Available for auction is this 1974 Land Rover 88 Series III “Miami Project” finished in BMW Mineral White Metallic over a custom blue marine artificial leather interior. This 1974 short-wheelbase example underwent a comprehensive frame-off restoration and improvement courtesy of Falcon Design Germany in 2020. It features a custom finish and interior, new body panels, an overhauled drivetrain, and more. Featured by Hagerty and Silodrome among other publications, this one-of-a-kind Series III is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

During the restoration process, the body was removed from the chassis and new body panels were fitted. The chassis and bulkhead were galvanized before the body was finished in BMW Mineral White with blue accents. The headlight bezels, front bumper, door hinges, side mirrors, windshield frame, and various other exterior trim are finished in blue, while the rear bumper sports a custom pink and white palm tree design. The frame has been hand-finished with a unique colorful pattern including palm trees, flamingos, pineapples, snow cones, and coconuts, which can be seen through the wheel wheels. It rides on a set of custom 16” steel wheels finished in white and dressed in a set of Goodyear Wrangler mud-terrain tires.

The cabin is fitted with custom FDG front seats and rear load area bench seating upholstered in weatherproof marine artificial leather matching the shade of blue found on the exterior trim. The same blue artificial leather covers the custom-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel and dashboard, while the rear floors feature teak wood decking. Additional details include Falcon Design Germany logos embroidered into the steering wheel and seat backs, custom front floor liners, and contrasting white piping on the seats.

Power comes from a Defender sourced 2.25L inline four-cylinder engine. All four wheels are driven by a 4-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. The seller reports that the engine and transmission were overhauled during the restoration process.

This sale will include a clean title.

@egaffney Good catch! Thanks for the question. Rear door can be configured in two ways, can be opened from top or to the right with 2 different hinge configuration. If you want to carry long items, you can change it to top open or if you want to get easier hop on/off for rear passengers, right opening configuration is better.

@Pwchronis Btw, there is no cage-like roof top available with the car. Car comes with the cover to protect the interior when stationary. It is designed to drive open top only, as its name speaks "Miami" :))

  • Masterpiece_Auto (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@Pwchronis I will put the car on the lift and share undercarriage photos asap.

  • Masterpiece_Auto (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    Dear All,
Thank you for looking at our masterpiece, 1974 Land Rover Series 3 with "MIAMI" Concept. It is a beautiful creation by our artists, paintwork is state-of-the-art and flawless. This car was the 1st runner in its category at L'automobilia Miami 2021.

  • Pwchronis (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Are the window frame door tops available? is there a top with the vehicle? Are there any undercarriage photos available?
