The BMW 2002tii (Touring Injection International) made its debut in 1971 featuring Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection that significantly elevated both performance and reliability. Originally delivered to the legendary Hoffman Motors dealership in New York, this 1974 example features a 4-speed manual transmission and has been resprayed in its factory-specified shade of Malaga. It has also been upgraded with 14” Panasport wheels, lowering springs, Bilstein shocks, a stainless-steel exhaust, and more. Meticulously maintained under the care of the seller, this 2002tii is now being offered for auction out of Colorado.
This 2002 was refinished in its factory-specified color of Malaga in 2017 and features US spec “diving board” bumpers, Hella lights, and aftermarket 14” Panasport wheels. The seller notes that the front and rear window seals were replaced along with the installation of new all-season tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features tan upholstery with a new dashboard cover, carpeting, and headliner. A three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a triple-gauge instrument cluster and the car was optioned with a factory crank-operated sunroof. The seller installed an aftermarket stereo with a CD player and reports that all gauges and accessories work properly apart from the clock.
The 2002tii is powered by a fuel-injected 2.0L M10 inline four-cylinder engine. Up to 130 HP and 131 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox. The seller indicates the car received a fresh oil change, a new battery, new spark plugs, ignition wires, and center support bearing in April 2023. Additionally, the seller has installed a new clutch, rear brakes, air filter, fuel-sending unit, fuel filter, fuel filter radiator, and gas lines. Upgrades are said to include lowering springs, larger front and rear sway bars, a performance engine tune, Bilstein shocks, and a stainless-steel exhaust.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, extensive documentation, and a clean title.
