Purhased by the seller out of Southern California in 2019, this 1974 BMW 2002 has been upgraded with a rebuilt M10 stroker engine featuring 90mm JE forged pistons, ARP head studs, a Petronix electronic distributor, a Carter electric fuel pump, a 294-grind cam, and dual Weber DCOE 40 carburetors with custom jetting. The car also features a rebuilt 5-speed Getrag transmission, Volvo front disc brakes, 320i rear brakes, Bilstein HD (B6) struts and shocks, Ground Control coilovers, a Sachs clutch, a rebuilt steering box, Euro-style bumpers, BBS wheels, and more. This modified BMW 2002 is now being offered for auction out of Colorado.

This BMW 2002 is finished in silver and features chrome Euro-style bumpers, dual chrome mirrors, a sunroof, a polished exhaust tip, pop-out rear quarter windows, and 15” BBS RS wheels dressed in Falken tires. Cosmetic imperfections are present around the exterior and rust can be seen in the spare tire well, around the fuel tank, inner trunk lid, rear quarter panels, pedal box, driver’s floor pan, frame rails, and front lip. The sunroof panel is also currently seized with corrosion. The sale is accompanied by a new driver’s side floor pan, a spare trunk lid, a replacement windshield, a spare pedal box, and a pedal box rebuild kit.

The cabin features black vinyl bucket seats, blue carpeting, and blue vinyl upholstery on the door panels and rear bench seat. Accessories include a wood-rimmed three-spoke Personal steering wheel, a wood BMW-crested gear knob, a woodgrain instrument panel, a fire extinguisher, a heater, and an aftermarket stereo and speakers. The seller indicates the A/C system has been removed, the dashboard and seats are cracked, the center console is not installed, and the stereo is mounted in a temporary position. The seller states that all gauges and electronics are working properly and the instrument cluster was calibrated by North Hollywood Speedometer in 2020.

The M10 inline-four engine has been rebuilt, bored, and stroked with 90mm JE forged pistons offering a 10.5:1 compression ratio. It features +.25mm oversized bearings, ARP rod bolts and head studs, a rebuilt head with stainless-steel valves, a decked block, new gaskets and seals, timing chain guides, a reground 294 cam, a Pertronix electric distributor, Carter electric fuel pump, a Bosch red ignition coil, a new fan blade, a Top End shorty exhaust, and dual Weber 40 DCOE carburetors with custom jetting by Mark Hutto. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag 245 manual gearbox which was rebuilt by A-1 Transmission including a Blunttech 5-speed conversion, new slave cylinder, clutch line, guibo, center support, bearing, a Blunttech 3” shortened driveshaft, and a new Sach 215mm clutch. Stopping power has been upgraded with a Top End big brake kit featuring Volvo front discs and a 320i rear drum set. The steering box has been rebuilt and the suspension has been overhauled with Bilstein HD shocks and struts, Ground Control coilovers, new bushings, and tie rods.

This sale will include a new driver’s side floor pan, a pedal box and rebuild kit, components for rear seat battery relocation, spare trunk lid and windshield, stainless-steel brake lines, new under dash panels, a 215mm Sachs clutch and pressure plate, and a clean title.
