The TVR M series, produced by TVR from 1972 to 1979, succeeded the Vixen and Tuscan models. Like previous and subsequent TVR models, the M-series utilized a front mid-engine, rear-wheel drive setup with body-on-frame construction, employing glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) for the bodywork. This 1973 TVR 2500M example was the subject of a restoration throughout 2022 and comes refinished in red over a tan interior. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Quebec.
As part of its restoration, this example’s fiberglass body has been refinished in a vibrant shade of red. Details include chrome trim, early-style bumpers, front fender vents, a louvered hood, front vented windows, bullet-style side mirrors, and a wrap-around rear windshield. It rides on “Gemini” wheels dressed in Goodyear tires reportedly driven approximately 1k miles. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents a combination of black and textured tan upholstery. Equipment includes bucket seats, dashboard padding, a leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel, Smiths instrumentation, a JVC stereo, roll-up windows, a heater, a wood-trimmed shift knob, and a host of central-mounted auxiliary gauges and switches. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be in working order.
Power is provided by a 2.5-liter Triumph inline-six engine with twin SU carburetors generating as much as 106 HP and 133 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that a complete restoration was performed, and a host of service documentation will accompany the sale along with photos of the restoration process.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, one key, and a collection of documentation.
The seller would like you to know: “Rare opportunity to own a really off-chart cool rig. FULLY RESTORED. Ultra-light fiberglass body, with Triumph 2.5-liter inline-six, manual, exact same powerplant utilized under more famous Triumph TR6’s bonnet. No deferred Maintenance. Turn the key and enjoy the sublimity of an affordable exotic car.”
