This 1973 Porsche 911E Coupe was acquired by the owner in 2014 and treated to a comprehensive year-long restoration with light modifications and performance upgrades. The exterior has been completely stripped and refinished in Silver Metallic, along with the installation of OEM RS steel rear fender flares. The interior has been redone with new red leather upholstery, grey German square weave carpeting, RS-style door panels, and GTS Classics sport seats with houndstooth cloth inserts. Power comes from a custom 3.0-liter flat-six engine built by Jerry Wood Enterprises, featuring SSI headers and exhaust, a Carrera oil cooler, and PMO/MoTeC electronic fuel injection. The car also received a rebuilt 5-speed 915 manual transaxle, larger torsion bars, new Koni shocks, and 7”/8” wide Fuchs-style wheels. This beautifully appointed 911E is now being offered for auction out of California with less than 1k miles driven since the restoration.
This 911E came factory-finished in Silver Metallic and equipped with an optional 911S-style front spoiler. During the restoration, the body was stripped to bare metal by Jerry Woods Enterprises of Campbell, California, revealing an impeccably clean tub. Any rust-compromised areas were replaced with OEM sheet metal, and factory RS steel fender flares were added to the rear quarters. The body was completely refinished in two-stage Silver Metallic paint, and all trim pieces and hardware were either plated, painted, or powder-coated before reassembly. Equipment includes chrome trim and headlight rings, a polished driver’s side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, RS-style rear bumperettes, a “3.0” decklid grille badge, and 15” Fuchs-style wheels measuring 7” wide in front and 8” wide at the rear. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been completely redone with new red leather upholstery and grey German square weave carpeting. It features GTS Classics sport seats with houndstooth cloth inserts, red three-point seatbelts, RS-style door panels with red pull straps, a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a heater, and analog VDO gauges. The seller notes the rear seats have been removed, the cabin is lined with Dynamat sound insulation, and the gauges have been rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedometer.
The air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six was built by Jerry Wood Enterprises using a Type 930 engine case. It features SSI headers and exhaust, a Carrera 3.2 oil cooler, and a PMO/MoTeC electronic fuel injection system with a standalone ECU. The original numbers-matching 2.4-liter MFI engine has been retained and is available to the next owner. A dyno-tested output of approximately 235 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle, which was rebuilt with new synchros and an upgraded input shaft. The seller adds that the chassis was restored and reassembled to factory specifications, apart from 1 mm larger torsion bars for improved handling.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Exceptionally well built, 911 with tasteful modifications. This was an 'open checkbook' restoration/build, and the results are magnificent. The car is equally as nice, if not more impressive in person and on the road.”

As we head into the final minutes here, good luck to all the bidders. This is a real opportunity to own a special build that would be very hard, expensive, and take a long time to replicate. Thank you for your questions and in person inspections of this beautiful car.

@Mezgerfan1209 I agree the receipts can be confusing. There are estimates, invoices and statements sometimes used interchangeably by the shop. We calculate over $200k was spent on the build including the car and that this would be closer to $300k to do today. A rebuild of the original 2.4 into a 2.7 was contemplated and I believe estimated early on in the plans for the car. A 3.2 was also considered. A rebuilt 3.0L Porsche race spec motor is ultimately what was built by JWE and installed in the car. The original 2.4 motor is also included with the purchase of the car, if the new owner wants it as well as the original Fuchs wheels. Photos of these items were uploaded yesterday. This rebuilt engine now has 790 miles on it. The pistons used in Jerry Woods' Porsche 911
Spec 3.0 engine are JE Pistons, specifically the 95mm 11.5:1 compression ratio forged pistons (part number 353248). The connecting rods were refurbished as part of the build, including new rod bearings, and we believe they used Pauter rods.

I hope it hasn't had all the miles on it with those lame screens on the intakes. That will great kill a motors longevity. Also I'm looking at the receipts and besides there seemingly being lots of doubles and triples of the same receipts, it mentions rebuilding the 2.7l several times, then building the 3.0 into a 3.2L and finally it highlights the reconditioning of the original 3.0 (?) conrods as well as pistons. Can you clarify what block/motor is in the car and if the rebuild really didn't include new pistons? Sorry, it's all a bit confusing based off the paperwork...
@Michel I have uploaded 3 videos to PCar and they are in the process of putting them on this listing. There is a walk around (which is live), and a driving video and a cold start video. Thank you for your patience.

Great news!! The owner has agreed to include the original engine, the (5) original Fuchs wheels, the original steering wheel, and the original deck lid which was restored when the rest of the car was done. I am uploading pictures of the wheels, and the deck lid shortly. I will try to get pictures of the engine today or tomorrow as it is stored in a different location. The winning bidder will have the option to take any or all of these items. If the winner chooses NOT to take the additional items, no price concessions will be subtracted from
the price of the car. The engine is in used, unrestored condition with approximately 85,830 original miles on it. It was running fine when it was removed from the car during the restoration process. If someone wants to use it in the future, it will need some work before being put to use. The wheels are in good, used, unrestored condition (see pictures). The original deck lid is in fully restored show condition and was painted at the same time the car was painted (see photos). I have not seen the steering wheel but it is not restored and I assume is in "used condition".

Thanks
That is a really neat and clean build. The engine compartment is uncluttered. Very nice!
@airKooled, sorry to bother again, do you have a # in mind for the original engine/wheels? Will help with bidding
@airKooled Wow, what do you think the cost of rebuilding a 2.4 E engine is these days? Is that something you do?
@Ravenna45 Thanks for your interest in the 911. Original matching numbers 2.4 engine is in complete, used, condition. We believe the original miles are in the 81,000 range and yes, it would certainly need some work to be used again and possibly a complete rebuild. 5 original FUCHS wheels in original, used but driver quality condition. We do have an owner's manual in rough condition. No tools.
Could you give us the status of the original 2.4? Is it complete? Does it need a rebuild? What do you have in books and tools?
Bid in the amount of $75,000
This a is a beautiful 911. I am building a 1973 911 coupe that will look almost identical to this one with a 3.2L short stroke.
I have a 73 E with a modified 3.2. Not as nice a build but also totally restored. When I bought it last year the selling dealer included the original (rebuilt) 2.4 in the sale. If I were the seller, I’d include the original engine in the auction and set reserve accordingly. But, I’m not the seller so just my opinion and I wish the seller a great result. It’s a beautiful build and as an owner of the same car with similar horsepower, I can say it is an absolute blast to drive.
@airKooled what is the offered price for the engine to the winning bidder?
Bid in the amount of $67,500
@seller, can you give us a ballpark of what you’re thinking on original motor/wheels/others? GLWTA, sweet ride. Need to factor that into bid(s)

This is the car for Californians... Pre-74 means no smog. Rebuilt engine resulting in more power but car remains lightweight. Restored, so potential rust issues from that era of cars have been addressed. This would be a fun car for whoever wins!
It's a little hard to follow all the receipts (some might be re-prints of prior work etc), but can you provide the total spent on the rebuild - car, engine, interior etc. ($100,306.52 might be total?) Beautiful build.
@G50Targa Yes, happy to show you the vehicle. We are by appointment only, so please send me a private message and we can coordinate a showing.
Hi - is the car available for viewing at your dealership?
@801911 Thanks for your complements. The original (matching numbers) engine, wheels etc are all available for purchase separately, and will first be offered to the winning bidder.
What are you doing with my car??? :) Great Build!
Bid in the amount of $50,000
Great car and well documented restoration. Does the matching numbers engine come with the car or at an additional cost?
