Marking the final model year of the original long-hood Porsche 911 body style, this 1973 Porsche 911T Coupe is equipped with a 2.4-liter flat-six engine mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle. It came factory-finished in Silver Metallic over a black interior and features an optional sunroof, air conditioning, aluminum rocker moldings, and 15” Fuchs alloy wheels. This 911T was purchased by the current owner in 1979 and has been refinished in its original color and converted to a dual carburetor setup under their care. Having recently been treated to a full service, interior refurbishment, and a new clutch, this numbers-matching 911T is now being offered for auction out of California.
The exterior was refinished in its factory Silver Metallic (936) paint color under current ownership in 2009. Equipment includes chrome trim and headlight rings, a polished driver’s side mirror, black bumperettes, an optional sunroof, aluminum rocker moldings, a fender-mounted antenna, pop-out rear quarter windows, and 15” Fuchs alloy wheels with new Kumho tires. The seller notes that the exterior is in excellent overall condition and the rubber seals remain intact. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior was recently refreshed with a new headliner and foam cushioning for the front seats. Accessories include a four-spoke leather steering wheel, three-point seatbelts, folding rear seatbacks, manual roll-up windows, door panel storage pockets, sun visors, analog VDO gauges, an under-dash air conditioning system, a locking glovebox, and an aftermarket stereo. The factory air conditioning system components have been removed and will be included in the sale. The seller adds that the odometer was replaced during the late 1980s to address a faulty speedometer, and the owner states that the mileage remains accurate.
The original air-cooled 2.4-liter flat-six engine has been converted to dual carburetors from its original Bosch mechanical fuel injection (MFI) system, and the original fuel system components are included in the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle, and braking is facilitated by ventilated discs at each corner. The seller notes the clutch was replaced and the fuel tank was cleaned within the last 500 miles, and a service was recently performed with new spark plugs, ignition wires, and an oil change.
This sale will include the original MFI and A/C components, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a California registration.

I had the opportunity to meet both the seller @rdipede and the owner today and see/drive the car, and it does not disappoint. Paint, interior, undercarriage and engine compartment and front trunk are a 10/10. I owned a '75 914 in the same Diamond Silver Metallic and it looks great on this car with the black Fuchs, bumperettes, and trim.
Car pulls, brakes and steers perfectly. Carbs seem a good upgrade, but glad that the MFI components are included should one want to return it to stock. Good news/bad news is only 500 miles since the extensive engine overhaul 17 years ago, but it appears to have been driven enough to keep it sound. No reported leaks, which is almost unheard of, and the underside looked exceptionally clean.
Owner is a mechanical engineer and in my experience, people like that are meticulous in their care of their cars, and that appears to be the case here (owner was even nervous for me to drive it 😊). Seller is a partner at a very reputable shop well known to local Porsche enthusiasts here, and was very engaged.
I'll be bidding, but given the provenance and condition of the car I expect this one to exceed my budget.

Carburetors are ZENITH (see photos) Owner advised that the sunroof has not been opened in years and is "stuck" you can hear the motor working but the roof will not open. Additional information is that less than 500 miles have been put on the vehicle since all the service was performed.

I assume these are Weber carbs? What does an “engine overhaul “ in May all involve? Sorry if I didn’t see the receipts on this, would be very helpful to see these and for the interior refresh and clutch work. Thanks. Nice car.
The front "bumperettes" for a US-spec car were all rubber and stuck out about 4" from point of attachment on the car. The bumperettes on this car are not those. I wonder if that is because it was a Canadian car? Not a big deal; just an observation...

@Tripledigit The owner had the engine overhauled and fully serviced in May. Less than 500 miles were put on the car since the work was completed. The mechanic went through the entire car and did not find any issues with the compression. A compression test was not completed at that time at the recommendation of the mechanic.

@Tripledigit No water intrusions, I don't see any oil leaks, the service records will come with the car. It has been properly and regularly maintained. I will be uploading a video later today or tomorrow of the cold start and driving.

Beautiful car! Is it possible to get compression test results, paint meter readings, a driving video and clearer photos/scans of the service records? Does the 911 leak oil, or have any water intrusion issues?

Is the A/C compressor locked up?
@YogiMac 911's through the 68 model were SWB, from 69 on they are long wheelbase.
@YogiMac I am really not sure. I can find out if you tell me what to look for.
@skylane9 the car came with factory AC. The compressor for the AC was removed when the carburetor conversion was performed. That said, the car comes with the original compressor and all the lines are still installed. It can be put back in.
How to tell if this is a SWB or long wheel base?
Did you add the under-dash air conditioning system and it is blowing cold?
@skylane9 no accidents whatsoever, and zero rust. It has spent 80% of its life parked in the garage in southern California.
