Up for auction is this 1973 Porsche 911 T Coupe. Delivered to a customer in southern California with a rare factory “S” package, this 911 T made its way to Maryland about 20 years ago where it has been stored in a garage ever since. This well-preserved, numbers-matching 911 T is now being offered for auction in driver’s grade condition by a seller in Florida.
Reported by the seller to be accident-free, this 911 T serves as a nice driver as well as a great candidate for a full restoration or custom build. The factory equipped steel “S” bumper looks sharp and sets this T apart from others on the road. This car was fully resprayed in its original historically favored color of Light Ivory some years ago and remains free of any major dents or scratches. The seller notes that some touched-up paint chips are visible and the original paint is still present in the door jambs and trunk. Still retaining its original rubber trim, there are some signs of age as noted in the photo gallery. Recent restorative work includes a new trunk floor pan and gas tank as well as cryoblasting of the undercarriage. This 911 T retains its original underbody and undercoating and is stated to be rust free.
Inside, this 911 T sports freshly reupholstered black seats that show very well. The original steering wheel has been replaced with an aftermarket unit. The original dashboard is cracked in the typical location and age-appropriate wear is present on the door panels and carpet. This highly original black leatherette interior is in otherwise sound condition; absolutely suitable for driving.
Fitted with the factory “S” package, this 911 T is equipped with the robust calipers and suspension of the 911 S. This 911 retains its original CIS 2.4L engine which sends 135hp to the rear wheels by way of a smooth, original 5-speed manual transmission. The seller indicates that this car starts, runs, and drives well, however, discloses that an engine re-seal and new shocks are recommended by his mechanic. Invoices totaling $4k in recent work will be included.
Included in the sale of driver’s grade 911 T are 2 sets of keys and the original owner’s manual. Also included will be a Certificate of Authenticity confirming this as a true, numbers-matching example. Highly original and structurally sound early model 911’s like these are becoming increasingly difficult to find, do not miss your opportunity to own this rare “S” package 911 T.

@JNasty - 71gold is correct. The S package was never really named or identified as such. but it was basically what you see listed on the COA as (Stabilizer bars F-R, Chrome strip fender, Comfort equipment, tinted glass, and Koni shocks,) described on the early cars as appearance group and later renamed Comfort Equipment code M470. And yes the S style front bumper is steel and original to the car, Not a fiberglass re-pop aftermarket bumper!
The COA “comfort group “is the S trim package and includes
-velour carpet
-gold Porsche & model
-aluminum door sills
-S rubbber on bumpers and doors
-chrome rocker panel
-S instruments
-leather covered steering wheel
@seller, confused about the "factory 's' package" on a T. Don't see such noted on the COA. And - devoid of that - how can you vet / claim as "Factory" please vs. added on?
