Available for auction is this 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Silver Anniversary finished in Silver Moondust Metallic over a Cranberry Victoria Velour Cloth interior. The Lincoln Mark IV is a two-door personal luxury coupe that was available from 1972 to 1976 and came equipped with a 7.5L V8 engine as well as some of the most advanced luxury amenities of the era. This 1973 example was acquired by the seller from a classic car dealer in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and was refurbished with new paint in 2021 as well as an upgraded modern stereo system. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York while showing approximately 49k miles on the odometer.
This Mark IV comes finished in Silver Moondust Metallic with a Silver Levant Grain Vinyl Roof and an Opera Window. While the Mark IV shared a chassis and roofline with the contemporary Thunderbird, all of the bodywork below the roof was unique to the Lincoln including the distinctive "Continental spare tire" decklid, hideaway headlamps, and a tall radiator-style grill. The seller reports that this example was refinished in 2021, detailed images can be found in the gallery. It rides on a set of 15” turbine-style wheels, which come dressed in a set of newer tires.
The cabin is trimmed in Cranberry Victoria Velour Cloth with button tufted bench seating front and rear, and matching carpets, door panels, dashboard, and headliner. Amenities include power-operated front seats, trunk release, and windows, woodgrain inlays on the dashboard and door panels, tilt steering, and automatic climate control. The stereo system has been upgraded with a modern unit that includes new speakers, an amplifier, a backup camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. The seller notes that all gauges and accessories are functional except for the cruise control.
Power comes from a 7.5L 16-valve V8 engine equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor, driving the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed automatic transmission. The Lincoln Mark IV came equipped as standard with power steering and Ford’s "Sure-track" brakes. The seller reports recent service items including new brakes, shocks, an exhaust system, and an overhauled cooling system.
This sale will include a clean title.
