Hand-built by Jensen Motors in England between 1966 and 1976, the Interceptor is a two-door, four-seater grand touring car with bodywork designed by Carrozzeria Touring and a range of powerful Chrysler V8 engines. This 1973 Jensen Interceptor is a Series III example powered by a 440ci V8 paired with a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. It was restored under the care of its previous owner of 32 years and features a rare dealer-installed sunroof, reupholstered brown Connolly leather front seats, a Koa wood center console, replacement carpets, GKN alloy wheels, modern speakers, and refurbished rear suspension. This Interceptor also underwent recent maintenance including new spark plugs and wires, a new headlight module, fan adjustments, a new battery, A/C system work, and carburetor service. Proudly displayed by its long-term previous owner at The Quail event and Concorso Italiano, this Jensen Interceptor is now being offered for auction out of California.
The Interceptor’s steel bodywork was designed by Carrozzeria Touring and features front fender vents, chrome bumpers, quad headlamps, and a large wraparound glass rear window that doubles as a tailgate. The Mark III version can be identified by its revised front grille, cast headlamp surrounds, bumper treatment, and 15” GKN alloy wheels. This example was stripped to bare metal and refinished in Frost Beige Metallic from its original Oatmeal color under prior ownership. It also features a rare dealer-installed steel sunroof. The seller notes the paintwork was carried out to a very high standard and remains deep and lustrous. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The 2+2 cabin of this Interceptor was previously refurbished with new carpeting and features reupholstered brown Connolly leather seats by the Jensen Interceptor specialists at Cropredy Bridge Garage. Accessories include an aftermarket wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, a Koa wood center console, power windows, air conditioning, analog Jaeger gauges, a VDO clock, and a Blaupunkt Boston CD189 radio paired with modern speakers mounted in stock locations. The seller notes the A/C system has been updated and recently serviced, and the original steering wheel is included in the sale.
This Series III Interceptor is powered by a 440ci Chrysler V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential mounted. Under prior ownership, the car was serviced with a new transmission pan gasket, differential pinion seals, rear leaf springs, and rear shock absorbers. More recently, a carburetor service was performed along with the installation of new spark plugs and wires, a new headlight module, fan adjustments, and a new Interstate battery.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and associated literature, a toolkit, an original jack, a spare tire, an air pump, a car cover, a battery charger, a front bra, service records, a collection of magazines, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This Jensen is easily in the top 5 to 10% of these cars. This one's not been hit or rusty. And always pampered and shown at major shows. Including the Quail! Ready to go and enjoy.”

@luckylobo hello and good morning..
I will do what I can. It is rainy here and I will not drive the car in the rain, for obvious reasons.
I'm not sure I will be able to get a compression test done between now and when the auction ends. As we're leading into Chrisman weekend.
I promise I will do my best.
For what it's worth it runs and drives beautifully. It recently completed a 2.5 hour drive here on the California coast with zero issues.
Bid in the amount of $26,000
@bigvitty4u - Very nice looking car. Will you be posting a driving video demonstrating the car has "get-up-and-go" and all the gauges, switches, lights, windows, sunroof, etc. function? If you do, please be sure the speedo, tach, and gauges are visible when driving. Can you provide a compression test also as the major restoration on this car was done by K&D more than 25 years ago? Do you have documentation of the mileage at the time of the restoration and over time when work was done since then? Can you provide receipts for more work other than a spreadsheet? Were the rear leaf springs shown as purchased ever installed? I ask because it is not in the spreadsheet and the rear end seems low. Again nice looking car. Thank you and Happy Holidays.
@baloo good morning! I appreciate your bid and approach! Happy holidays

Aw heck, might as well break the ice and spoil everyone's wish to steal this car....
@needanothercar you're very welcome for the quick response.
I will go to the car tomorrow and show you the hood isn't warped. I now see what your saying. This car is very straight. The hoods close kinda strangely on them too.
Thanks for your quick response to my comments. My first question was the apparent warped appearance on the passenger trailing edge of the hood. The visual elevation on the passenger side versus the driver's side appears to be about one inch. In the past I was able to align the hood by lower the rubber bump stop but there is not one on your car. This is a car I have had an interest in buying, I just wish the auction lasted longer and not compete with the holiday.
@needanothercar hello I'm not the car at this moment. But will answer as best as I can I can follow up when I'm with the car. Also. Thank you for your interest.
The hood is not warped.
The latches line up and close tightly
Seats are manual
I don't not believe the vents are packed with anything but will confirm.
Car has upgraded radiator and fans
I'll get you the tire dates.
Thank you again in advance
Good color combination- exterior and interior. Questions, hood appears warped in photos 38 and 39. The latches are not at equal distance from edge of hood in photo 100, is this the problem? Are seats manual adjustment? I did not see electric switches for forward and up movement. Side fender vents seem to be packed with waded paper, or similar material, in photos 31 and 34. These cars have heat problem and batteries have been moved to trunk to offset the heat plus new radiator and high speed fans. Have you added high speed fans or better radiator? What is tire manufacturer date?, Look forward to your reply
Hey everyone! Welcome to the auction! I'm here for any questions, comments and concerns. Happy holidays!!
@Footnfan thank you!! And yes you know most of these are cobbled together. So much fun stuff that comes with this car also
Very nice. One of the few cars I would still like to have in the garage. Very hard to find in this type of condition
