Available for auction is an original painting by Lance Grootboom of Lance Artworx featuring the 1973 Brumos Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 - inspired by the factory-owned Brumos Porsche 911 Carrera of Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood that won the 1973 Daytona 24 Hours. This original fine art Painting is 100% hand-painted with acrylic paint on a 39" x 27 " Canvas. The artist states, the painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and will be shipped to the buyer in a solid, custom-made, heavy-duty postal tube for 100% safety.
"As an artist, it is my utmost privilege to have the insight, talent, and skills to create the type of artwork that affects, inspires and that moves. Like most artists, I started drawing from a very young age. I grew up in the northern suburbs of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. My home town is known for its wind, beaches, Victorian landmarks, and its friendly residents have earned the moniker, “The Friendly City”. Unfortunately, formal art education was prohibitively expensive where I grew up and as a result, my path to becoming a professional artist was by necessity self-taught. Crayons and crude pencils were traded for industry-standard graphite and pastels and those were eventually supplanted by premium grade acrylics on canvas. As my skills matured and my technique became more precise, my art and my passion for cars converged, with this union ultimately becoming my profession. I combine passion, attention to detail, high-quality modern materials and techniques ranging from classical to cutting edge, and experimental to create one-of-a-kind pieces unique to the vision of each commission. While I have a penchant for greats like Claus Luthe, designer of the BMW E30, and Ferdinand Porsche, my design palette is broad and eclectic, with an appreciation for the classics and admiration for the modern aesthetic."

Introduced in 1973, the RSR was a factory-built racing car based on the 911 chassis. For the privateer in the mid-1970s who wanted to go sports car racing this was the weapon of choice, especially for those who want to compete at the big races.
Porsche built just 55 examples of the original 2.8 RSR for the 1973 season, most sold to private racing teams.
