This 1973 BMW 3.0 CS features a retrofitted 5-speed manual transmission mated to a 3.0-liter M30 inline-six engine with dual Weber carburetors as well as optional air-conditioning, power steering, a sunroof, and Alpina-style wheels. The car is said to have been completely restored about 10 years ago and has been maintained by the current owner for the last 5 years. This classic BMW is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

Produced from 1968 to 1975, the BMW E9 Coupe was designed by Wilhelm Hofmeister with bodywork by Karmann. It features traditional BMW styling cues including front kidney grilles, quad headlamps, and “Hofmeister kink” C-pillars adorned with BMW roundels. Other details include chrome bumpers and window trim, front fender vents, flush-mounted door handles, and a polished driver’s side mirror. This E9 is said to have been completely refinished in its original silver color during a restoration about 10 years ago. The paint is described to be in very good overall condition apart from some minor cosmetic imperfections. The car rides on 16” Alpina-style wheels that were mounted with new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires in 2021 within the last 4k miles. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The restored interior features white leather upholstery covering the seats and door panels with a matching perforated headliner. The leather is accented by grey carpets, a black dashboard, wood trim, and contrast seat piping. Accessories include a three-spoke wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, power windows, an electric sunroof, air conditioning, front seatbelts, rear lap belts, a Kenwood stereo, Focal speakers, and grey Berber floor mats. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

The car’s original 3.0-liter M30 inline-six engine was overhauled during the restoration and fitted with new dual Weber carburetors. This 3.0 CS was originally one of only 314 examples delivered to the U.S. with an automatic transmission for the model year which has since been swapped in favor of a 5-speed manual gearbox. The seller indicates that the current owner observed standard routine maintenance since their purchase 5 years ago.

This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This is an amazing driver and with a little bit of details, could be a show car. This car drives like a dream.”
