This 1973 BMW 2002 is powered by a 2.0-liter M10 inline-four engine with a Weber carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition, a Schrick 292-degree camshaft, Mahle 9.3:1 pistons, and an Ansa exhaust. Refinished in orange and black, it features a black interior with Recaro sport seats, a three-spoke Alpina-branded steering wheel, and Alpina instrumentation. The car also highlights a 4-speed manual gearbox, KYB shocks, Bavarian Autosport springs, Ireland Engineering sway bars, strut braces, a Kooglewerks front air dam, front driving lights, and 13″ Borrani steel wheels. Purchased by the seller in 2023, this BMW 2002 is now being offered for auction out of Canada accompanied by a spare 5-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.
This 2002 was reportedly refinished in the two-tone orange and black theme about four years ago. The exterior is decorated with chrome trim, BMW Alpina fender logos, dual mirrors, a chrome Euro-style rear bumper, a Kooglewerks front air dam, 2002ti rear model designation, pop-out rear windows, and auxiliary diving lights with white Hella covers. The car rides on 13” Borrani steel wheels dressed in 185/70 Hercules MRX Plus 4 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black vinyl interior includes front Recaro sport seats, an aftermarket three-spoke leather steering wheel, Alpina gauges, and Alpina crests on the gear knob and horn button. The rear seats have been removed and aftermarket gauges are installed in the center console.
Power comes from a 2002ti-sourced 2.0-liter M10 inline-four engine featuring a Weber carburetor, a Schrick 292-degree camshaft, Mahle 9.3:1 pistons, Pertronix electronic ignition, and an Ansa exhaust system. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission, and a spare E30 318i 5-speed gearbox is included in the sale along with an E21-sourced 3.91:1 limited-slip differential. The forward-opening hood is equipped with Kooglewerks hinges and the suspension has been modified with KYB gas shocks, Bavarian Autosport springs, Ireland Engineering sway bars, Kooglewerks strut tower braces, urethane bushings, and an adjustable rear camber/toe kit. An uninstalled Ireland Engineering trailing arm reinforcement plate is also included in the sale. The seller reports the fluids were changed in 2023.
This sale will include an Ontario registration, a spare 5-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential.

Will the five speed fit in the trunk?

@mcorrallo, good question. It really depends on how you're driving the car. The four-speed is fine for spirited back roads or on the track, as the gear ratio is perfect. The 5-speed is if you're doing more highway cruising. The reason I didn't install the 5-speed is that for my two track days, I noticed that I didn't need the 5-speed.
Importantly, the 4-speed is perfectly fine for highway driving as well. At 4th gear, it was still under 4,000 rpm. The main reason I purchased the 5-speed was that it was available, and I knew the prices were rising with these. I think you should drive the car as IS, and if you think it's necessary to switch, then you have the 5-speed transmission available. I hope this helps.
Would you recommend that the extra 5-speed transmission be installed in place of the existing 4-speed? Does the 4-speed rev too high at 70-80mmph?

Good Luck to all the Bidders. I hope it will go to a good home. It is in fantastic shape, and it just needs to be driven. I will also actively assist in shipping. For US buyers, I know of a number of great brokers and transport companies that offer door-to-door delivery. I sold three vehicles last year to the US, and all went without any issues.
Thank you.

@1kid, safety WILL be transferable to a new owner in Ontario.
@Nimo is the safety for Ontario registration transferable to the new owner or does the vehicle need to pass safety, in order for the owner to put vehicle on road?
The car comes with safety for Ontario Registration.
@1kid, most of the work done by previous owner, yes driven without filte. , no issues with engine. Runs strong and drives great. I have no receipts from previous but I do have receipts that I’ve done and it’s posted. Plz check out the pictures. Thanks.
Hopefully this will do better here than it did on bring a trailer. It will be interesting to compare the result.

@seller (Nimo) there are no air filters on the carburetor’s intakes . Was it driven with no filters? Do you have any invoice/pic’s of the engine repairs that are reported to have been done ? Does the front bumper come along with sale of the car to pass safety inspection?
@1kid, no pics of before repaint as the previous owner did most of the hard work on body and paint. It’s in amazing condition.
