An especially significant year for the Porsche 911, 1972 saw the introduction of a new Type-915 manual transmission and a unique external oil filler lid (Ölklappe) which was discontinued the following year. This modified 911T has been refinished in Light Yellow over a black leatherette interior with aftermarket leather Recaro seats and a roll bar. It is said to have undergone a host of mechanical modifications including a 3.2-liter engine swap from a 1985 Carrera, upgraded brakes and suspension, and an OEM Porsche limited-slip differential. Accompanied by extensive documentation, this tastefully modified long-hood 911 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado.
Referred to as an “Ölklappe”, this 911T is distinguished as a 1972 model by the external oil filler lid mounted behind the passenger door on the rear quarter panel. This modified example has been refinished in its factory-specified shade of Light Yellow with contrasting black Porsche logo side stripes. Details include a driver’s side mirror, aftermarket 9Eleven Raven S headlights, aftermarket fog lights, a 911S-style front bumper, a louvered rear decklid, and polished quad exhaust outlets. It rides on factory 15” Fuchs forged alloy wheels dressed in Laufenn G FIT AS tires from 2021. The seller notes a few minor rock chips on the front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents black leatherette and features leather Recaro bucket seats, a roll bar, an aftermarket aluminum shifter with a wooden shift knob, a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, roll-up windows, fabric door pulls, a rear seat delete, and Coco floor mats. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly.
This 911T features an air-cooled and fuel-injected 3.2-liter flat-six engine which was borrowed from a 1985 Carrera and installed in 1997. Power is sent to the rear wheels through its original 915/02 5-speed manual transmission. Additional upgrades are said to include a Fabspeed High-Performance Airbox Cover, Porsche OEM limited slip differential, upgraded brakes, and an upgraded suspension. The seller reports that the car has been driven approximately 500 miles since its last oil change in February 2023.
This sale will include a clean title, spare tire, tool kit, car cover, and extensive documentation.
The seller would like you to know: “I have owned this car since December 2022. I purchased it from Porsche Tucson where it was thoroughly gone through. After I purchased I immediately sent it to Porsche of Colorado Springs to have it gone through and an oil change was done. I also had 9 Eleven headlights installed because I sometimes drive at night and like good lighting. I have owned 11 different Porsches in my life. This is my favorite. Because of recent medical issues, I have to sell the car.”

You can tell by the seller that this is probably a spectacular car
I remember this car from when it was in the SF Bay Area. It was a previous R-Gruppe Member car with a lot of great period modifications that look to have been removed since I saw it last. I remember that the front fenders and hood were not original, but overall the car was very solid.
Bid in the amount of $65,000
@Punjabi408 i got you a goid photo this morning of the back area. It looks the same underneath as the front. I don’t understand why you need it. I am busy at work now. I gave you the photos of the front area underneath. That took a half a day to get the right lighting.
Hi Dave, were you able to get any pictures of the rear partial shelf and rear seat area without the carpet.
@Coldbru Please watch new video of complete underside described by Charles Croteau. It is very thorough.
Bid in the amount of $42,000
Just saw the video well done
Bid in the amount of $38,000
I’ll definitely increase my bid if I can see a picture of the front suspension pan from underneath. And the front and the trunk without the carpets.

@OldSchool See new photos and a new video showing underside and inside.
@Raycharles4998 Thanks. Ray. Likewise.
Dave: The missing undercarrage shots from under the seats and foward and missing carpet out shots from the rear seats and trunk are likely to hold back some bids that should otherwise be made on what appears to be a driver with some nice mods.
Dave, these are just cars. You're a fellow American and a brother. You'll be in my prayers. God Bless You.
Can you please provide pics of paperwork to detail the engine replacement and modifications? Just to get an idea. Thank you. for the additional pics already submitted.
@Punjabi408 I will try to get to that however I have a lot to do today at work. Maybe later today.
Do you have any pictures of the rear seat area without the carpet. Are the holes and mounting positions for the rear seats there. IF someone wanted to put back the old seats or to use to mount harness.
@Fomob69 Thanks for your kind words.
Sorry to hear about the heart issue. I myself just had a quintuple bypass so I am extremely empathetic. Will be watching this.one very closely. Love the car.

@GTSilver16 Thank you. I just love this car. Unfortunately I have bad heart and don’t want to leave it for my wife to sell.

@GTSilver16 Thanks for the words of encouragement.
@eurocool
Good catch, I thought I was experiencing deja vu as I remember seeing this at Dawydiak in person. It took them a long time to sell …
If you give me your cell # I can txt u some underneath photos.
I have to wait until Monday when they are open to add photos.
@timrod Yes. I will add some later today.

Bid in the amount of $24,000
@eurocol Yes and recently owned by Charles Croteau who sold it to Porsche Tucson. Charles only has great things to say about this special car.
Is this is not the same car sold by Dawydiak in San Francisco in 2018?

@Cozad1955 yes
@opener Steel. 911 S OEM front bumper.
@eurocol No. I am sending photos of under the floor mats this evening. At work right now. I can send more photos from the hinges and gas fill area too.

What kind of muffler/exhaust tip hardware used? Somewhat of a different sound on cold start up video. Thanks
I live 50 miles away. History of ownership would be helpful. When was restoration done? Detailed info on suspension updates/upgrades helpful. Colorado Springs Dealership car evaluation paperwork pics? More pics of underside/suspension?
