This 1972 Porsche 911T Coupe has been customized and upgraded for performance including adjustable Koni shocks, dual fender-mounted oil coolers, sway bars, and a rebuilt 2.8-liter engine featuring Weber 40 Series carburetors, headers, and a sport exhaust. Acquired by the current owner in 2017, this driver-oriented 911 hot rod is now being offered for auction out of Texas.
This 911T is believed to have been refinished in the current shade of red over 10 years ago and features black trim and model lettering, a chrome driver’s side mirror, chrome door handles, H4 headlamps, black rear bumperettes, a chrome tailpipe, and a 911S-style front spoiler. The rocker moldings have been eliminated and the car rides on a set of polished 16” Fuchs wheels. Some rocks chips are noted on the front end and the tires show production date codes from 2004.
The black leatherette interior is fitted with a pair of adjustable VW Scirocco seats, RS-style door panels, a leather shift knob, and a three-spoke sport steering wheel. The radio faceplate is missing, and the heater boxes were eliminated with the installation of aftermarket headers.
The air-cooled flat-six engine was rebuilt by Eurosport Automotive in 2016 and enlarged to 2.8 liters with JE pistons and cylinders. Other features include upgraded Carrera chain tensioners, Turbo lower valve covers, Weber 40 Series carburetors, distributor-less ignition, Bursch headers, a sport exhaust, and stainless-steel oil lines connected to MOCAL fender-mounted oil coolers. The car has also been fitted with adjustable Koni shocks, a through-body front sway bar, and cross-drilled front brake rotors. The seller states that routine oil changes have been completed throughout their ownership since 2017.
This sale will include a clean title.

@joebatters I am not sure what you mean exactly. f you are asking if it was imported, I have not seen anything to suggest it was. To the best of my knowledge it was an American car.
Do you have a certificate of origin?

@1mrj911 It does have an orange undertone. It really is a great color in person. I will say, to my eye, the orange come out more in the pics than in person.
@1mrj911 I just called the powers to be to make sure they upload the cold start and idle videos I sent in.
And in the videos the car looks orange red , In the pictures it looks dark red ,is it dark red or orange red?
Hello , Is there a video of the car idling ? the video of the car in the other video sounds like the car is missing , running rough. or is that not right. a video of a cold start and idle would be good.
@krog88 It has been fun to drive! With the front coolers it never ever gets hot, and Texas is fairly hot and humid. This summer was well into 110-112*
Yes, the passenger mirror is not on the car, that is how it was when I bought it. The holes do in fact have plugs that were not installed in all of the pics. I take them out when I wash the car. I realized after I took the pics that I had forgotten to put them back in.
Yes there is a spot that is in the opening for the rear deck lid that has started to show rust at some point. It was also like that when I bought it. It has not gotten worse since 2017. I alway think to remove the deck lid and have a spot repair performed. I never did because I only see it when serving the car, it has not gotten worse and is maybe an inch-inch and a quarter big. As seen from the undercarriage pics and the engine pics/video everything else seems to be solid.
I am not privi to how in dept the paint job was. I did not receive any invoices for the paint job, and the seller I bought it from was not the owner that had it painted either. To answer your question, no, I do not remember seeing much, if any overspray. It seems to me that they did do a good masking job.
The car is killer, tasteful and purposeful. A few questions.
In photo 33, is the passenger mirror missing it do you still have it? Are the mounting holes just open?
In photo 57, the spot behind the driver’s side rear deck hinge looks like rust. The walk around video shows it as well. Any other rust?
When the car was repainted do you know if it was glass out bare metal or…? Any overspray visible on the fender or other body seals?
Thanks!

@Fluffy101 no, they were not included when I purchased the car.
Beautiful - curious if you have the seat headrests?
@Nimlou993 I am not sure the exact color code as it was already painted when I got it. It does look great in person.
What is the color code? Doesn’t look guards red. Beautiful car!

Bid in the amount of $20,000
@Damaho912 Thx. I can’t really take much credit for this car as I bought it this way. after I drove it, I took it home.
There is a cold start and idle video that I forgot to upload yesterday. I sent them in and expect them to be available soon.
Sounds glorious!
@TyStav I sent some in yesterday and they should have them up soon.
Quite a collection of Porsches in that garage.
@Tradin1 could you post a cold start video and engine idling video. Do you have any driving videos? Thanks!
@Pcars I just looked and yes, they did the rebuild.
Was it Eurosport here is Chicago?
if anyone else has any questions or would like to see anything in particular just let me know.
@Pcars unfortunately i have no way to confirm as the engine was rebuilt before i purchased the vehicle in 2017. i called the company on the receipt that performed the rebuild and they told me that they should have used them, but i have no way to verify. i will say that this engine has been relatively dry for a 911 of this vintage. i have the invoice for $19,603.18 for when the motor was rebuilt. case savers were not an item on this invoice. i will say that all i have ever had to do to this car in my time owning it was change the oil, valve adjustments and alignments.
Were case savers used in the mag case?
