Introduced in 1966 as a competitor to the Jeep CJ-5, International Scout, and Toyota Land Cruiser, the Ford Bronco utilizes a box-section body-on-frame design, a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system, and a short wheelbase for traversing rough terrain. This 1972 Bronco wagon is said to have received a full rotisserie restoration including a repaint in Black Cherry Metallic with a Wimbledon White hardtop, a Ford 302ci V8 with a 5-speed manual transmission, a suspension lift, 4.30:1 Trac-Loc differentials, custom fabricated front and rear steel bumpers, American Racing wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, Vintage Air air conditioning, a full custom roll cage, a reupholstered interior with power seats, an upgraded sound system, and more. Having traveled approximately 4k miles since the restoration, this Bronco is now being at auction by its seller out of Maryland.
The exterior was completely stripped down and repainted in PPG Black Cherry Metallic with a Wimbledon White removable hardtop. The seller reports a recent full detail and paint correction has been performed, detailed images are provided in the gallery. Modifications include cut rear fenders with riveted flares, custom fabricated bumpers with integrated LED foglights in the front and a swing-out tire carrier in the rear, upgraded LED headlights, tubular side steps, a body-colored grill with a blue Ford badge, and tinted glass. A bikini soft top is also said to be included with the sale. The 16’ American Racing AR201 wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires.
The interior features custom two-tone leather upholstery with upgraded power-adjustable and heated seats, black carpeting, billet aluminum trim, and a custom full roll cage. Amenities include a Kenwood head unit linked to Kicker and Polk Audio speakers, a subwoofer, Vintage Air A/C, a lockable Tuffy center console, an upholstered hardtop with dome lights, storage nets behind the front seats, a MOMO three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a custom body color-matched dashboard with a locking glovebox. The seller notes the speedometer is inoperable and needs to be connected.
This Bronco has been fitted with a 302ci Ford V8 equipped with Comp Cams, stainless steel valves, a Summit four-venturi carburetor on a Weiand aluminum intake manifold, and Explorer front-end components, along with a dual exhaust system and a custom aluminum radiator with Goodridge lines and fittings. Power is sent to all four wheels via a five-speed NV3550 manual transmission, a Dana 20 transfer case, Carolina Powertrain driveshafts, and 4.30:1 Trac-Loc differentials. The suspension has been fitted with a Wild Horses 2.5” lift kit that includes Bilstein shocks and Daystar polyurethane bushings. The power steering and front disc brakes are aided by a hydro-boost system.
This sale will include a clean title, a full-size spare, a car cover, a bikini top, and some service documentation.
