Available for auction is this 1971 Porsche 914 finished in green over a black cloth interior. This example was acquired by the seller in May of 2022 from a private collection that it had been part of for over 20 years. It features a 1.7L flat-four paired with a 5-speed transaxle, Pedrini-style wheels, a luggage rack, a removable Targa roof panel, an upgraded sound system, and more.
This 914 comes finished in green with black vinyl sail panels and a removable Targa top. The car was originally finished in Willow Green (L63K) and was refinished in its current shade of green under previous ownership. Minor chips and imperfections are noted throughout, the bumper trim and sail panels show some wrinkling, and some corrosion is present below the battery tray. Details include pop-up headlights, a rear luggage rack, front fog lights, hood pins, Porsche-branded rocker panels, black bumpers, tow-bar mounts beneath the front bumper, and 15” Pedrini-style wheels dressed in a set of Cooper CS4 Touring tires from 2008.
Inside, the seating surfaces are upholstered in black corduroy with grey inserts. The floors are lined with grey carpeting and the door panels and trimmed in black vinyl. Details include a brake proportioning valve mounted on the center tunnel, VDO instrumentation, an AutoMeter tachometer, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, a rear window defroster, hand-crank windows, a dashboard cap, and a sound system with upgraded speakers and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
Power comes from an air-cooled dual-carbureted 1.7L flat-four cylinder engine fitted with tubular exhaust manifolds. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. Performance upgrades include an adjustable brake proportioning valve for the four-wheel disc brakes, rear coilover suspension, and a front sway bar with upgraded links. The seller notes that the most recent service included an oil and filter change and new spark plugs.

@skinnyphat to follow back on a question I missed, the TMU status has mostly to do with age of the vehicle.
-All lights function properly
-This particular 914 was restored by the previous owner, and did give us much help. Hence our inspection and servicing of the vehicle.
-The wheels are a reproduction, but are in excellent condition.
Hi@skinnyphat, It is in excellent operating conditions, and shortly we will upload the service record from what we've performed over the vehicle, but until then, here are a few things of note from when we acquired the vehicle in June of '22:
-Annual Inspection
-Oil Change
-Spark Plug Replacement
-Hydraulic Brake System Flush.
Past that, we've spoken to the previous owner in detail, and beyond some of the appearance and interior changes, the most notable would be the switch from the original Fuel injected system to a somewhat standard conversion to Weber Twin Carbs. The tight spots, like the battery well, (Which many enthusiasts call the "Hell hole") are free of rust or degradation.
Condition wise, from the 914's we've researched, this is an excellent example of a car many driver's considered disposable.
Haven't see much activity with this auction, including seller interaction. Assuming this car runs from the video, but confirmation would be great.
-What's the history of the car? The VIN doesn't come up, although it appears to be in the range of a 1971 914 (I'm not an expert). Is there a carfax? Has it been registered in the US and passed inspection (emissions etc) previously?
Any service history?
If its been in a private collection, why is it "TMU"?
Do all the lights work?
Are the wheels OEM? Or at least authenticate Porsche?
Thanks
Hey Guys,
Any chance you could provide pix of ft and r cargo areas?
Much Thanks, Joe
