Up for auction is this 1971 Porsche 914.  The 914 was introduced as Porsche's premier mid-engine sports car, offering drivers both an open air and coupe-style experience thanks to its removable top. This example spent over 35 years in the hands of a Porsche enthusiast who kept the car in a climate controlled facility.  The car is now being offered by the 3rd and current owner in excellent driver-grade condition with just 15k miles driven since its recent engine rebuild.

3 years ago, this 914 received a professional respray changing the original color of orange to its new classic white finish.  It is stated to be in great condition with only minor signs of wear that is noted in the gallery photos.  Showing absolutely no rust, the seller indicates that a few small areas were professionally removed and replaced with Ned sheet metal.  The car rides on OEM wheels that are stated to be in great condition.  Overall, this 914 boasts a very solid frame.

The black leatherette interior is stated to be in well above average condition for its age and milage with one minor crack on the dashboard.  The seller states that an upgraded AM/FM head unit with an auxiliary port has been installed.  The seller states that all gauges and electronics work as they should.

Power comes from a numbers matching 1.7L fuel injected four-cylinder engine that is connected to a dogleg 5-speed manual transmission.  This 914 boasts an engine rebuild completed 3 years ago which included a rebuilt transmission, rebuilt gearbox, new clutch, new exhaust system, replaced fuel tank, fuel lines, and new brakes.  It is now stated to be in excellent running condition with no noted mechanical issues.

The sale will include records, a spare tire, tools, factory jack, and 2 keys.  Don't miss your opportunity to own an exceptionally solid example of the Porsche 914.

Auction ends soon. Let me know if you have any last minute questions. As a longtime PCA member I try to make sure to get all the details on a car when I sell it out there so there are no surprises. I only buy great running and driving cars to begin with. Hopefully the detailed description, photos, and video give you great confidence.

Bumpers are black, car was painted white when I purchased the car. The original factory color is tangerine. The previous owner provided receipts for machining of the head along with many other parts and outsourced work and repairs. The long term owner performed much of the work on the car throughout the years. Also comes with original owners manual.

It would be nice to see the "hell hole", i.e., below the battery support box and the RR suspension pickup point. This is where the battery rusts out the frame on all 914's.

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my 914. This 1.7 liter fuel injected four is one of the best running most reliable 914s I have owned. Will make a great high quality as is or an incredible starting point for a next level restore. If you have any questions let me know. I will post cold start and walk around video soon. Happy bidding.
