Based on the chassis of a 1971 Porsche 911E Coupe, this 1974 911 Carrera RSR-style race car was built many years ago under previous ownership and is said to have been raced during the IMSA Camel GT and Camel Lights era with several podium finishes. It wears full RSR-style bodywork with a classic Sunoco-Porsche livery and features a Mike Burns 964-based 3.8-liter endurance race motor said to produce up to 400 HP along with a 930 racing gearbox and heavy-duty coilover suspension. The car is also equipped with Porsche 993 Turbo “Big Red” front brakes, a full roll cage, a MOMO steering wheel, a fire suppression system, and 16” BBS racing wheels. It was acquired by the current owner about 18 years ago and is said to have logged less than 5 hours on its rebuilt motor. This race-ready 911 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee.
This 911 has been fitted with full RSR-style bodywork including widened fenders with rear side air intakes, a front bumper with interchangeable spoilers, a lightweight fiberglass rear bumper, and an IROC-style Whale Tail rear spoiler. The car is finished in blue with a yellow Sunoco-Porsche livery and Camel GT Challenge graphics on the doors. Other details include an external kill switch, hood and decklid pins, painted headlight covers, integrated tow hooks, a through-hood fuel filler, dual black mirrors, and dual exhaust tailpipes. It rides on a set of 16” BBS three-piece racing wheels mounted with newer Hoosier slicks that are said to have been used for only 2 track sessions. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior has been stripped out and converted into a racing cockpit featuring a full roll cage, a Racetech driver’s seat, a Sabelt safety harness, a MOMO three-spoke steering wheel, a fire suppression system, and custom switches. The seller states the roll cage, chassis, fuel cell, and dry sump tank are original to the initial build and have been serviced as necessary throughout the years. All electrical accessories are said to have been updated and remain fully operational.
Power comes from a 964-based flat-six engine built by Mike Burns to a 3.8-liter displacement featuring twin plug heads, dual MSD ignition boxes, PMO 50 carburetors, a billet distributor, and a large capacity dry sump oiling system. The engine is said to generate up to 400 HP to the rear wheels through a strengthened Porsche 930 Turbo 4-speed manual gearbox with a Fabcar shifter and a lightweight JB Racing clutch. Two sets of interchangeable cryo-treated gears are said to be included for the transmission. The front suspension features RSR-style coilovers as well as ERP 935-style A-arms, components, and tie rods. At the rear, heavy-duty 930 trailing arms air paired with coilovers and monoball bushings. Stopping power comes from Porsche "Big Red" front brakes and 930 Turbo rear brakes with Tilton twin-adjustable brake bias master cylinders. The seller states the carburetors were recently rebuilt along with fuel system cleaning, installation of new fuel cell foam, fuel pumps, racing oil, and filters.

When I was doing the research on the history of this car.
I was able to talk to race mechanic form the day at Klub Sport in south Florida that did the latest restoration back in 1998. He told me that it was the car that was raced in 1978 by the Nashville group called Music City, P&A team #22.
This team and car move from Nashville to San Diego and turned into the Bruckman Group #22 and ran by the same team owners raced it at the 80 Daytona 24. This is when it was re-bodied into a 74RSR!
He is the one that told me to check on the Racing sports cars site that it was there.
This is a 1971E and in the 78 race it is listed as a 911E. So his information rings true!
First year raced Daytona 1978.

After that it bounced around the West Coast for several years until coming to Florida in the late 90s and Klub Sport.

Finished in blue with a classic Sunoco-Porsche livery, this 911 wears full RSR-style bodywork, lightweight Lexan windows, and two interchangeable front air dam spoilers for varying downforce.
The 16” BBS three-piece racing wheels all mounted with new Hoosier slicks with only 2 sessions on them.
Brake are Front big 993 calipers and rotors.
Rear 930 Turbo brake calipers and rotors.
Tilton twin adjustable brake Bias master cylinder’s.
The exterior is in good overall condition with some small marks from track debris.

The car weighs approximately 2,200 lbs.
The front suspension Features RSR coil over shocks, ERP 935 A-arms and components and tie rods.
rear heavy-duty 930 trailing arms including coil overs and monoball bushings. The engine has logged less than 5 hours since the build; the carburetors were recently rebuilt along with fuel system cleaning, installation of new fuel cell foam, fuel pumps, racing oil, and filters.
The fuel cell internals and foam were replaced just a couple of years ago.
930 turbo rear trailing arms. Never any hits that I am aware of, which means the past 30+ years and NO evidence of any hits ever.
The car is a 4 speed....The 930 box, built well and is much stronger than the 915 and, in my opinion, much stronger than a standard G50.
All: The car is extremely well sorted and very reliable RSR and it has a great balance of speed, fun and reasonable affordability.
The car is "on the button" and very quick. Well driven it'll win its class in vintage racing AND LOOK doing it!
The car was entered as a back in the day and built to the specs of a 74 RSR. The roll cage, chassis, fuel cell, dry sump tank are original to the initial build and have been serviced as necessary. All pumps, electrical, motor, coil overs, ignition systems, transmission are updated/new as are the 16" BBS 3 piece racing wheel

@racedeck I have uploaded pictures of the logbooks. Some have not showed up like HSR ones.
This engine has six hours on it total. We leaked it down it was 2% across-the-board.
