Succeeding the Lincoln Continental Mark II, the Mark III served as the flagship vehicle of the Ford Motor Company from 1969 to 1971. This 1971 example is presented with a White finish over matching leather upholstery. Powered by a 460ci V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, it features characteristic concealed headlamps, a distinct spare tire hump, genuine walnut wood interior trim, a host of luxurious amenities, and an optional sunroof. This Continental is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.
The Mark III is distinguished by its "long hood, short deck" design, featuring a prominent front grille, hidden headlamps, and a Continental rear tire hump. This example is finished in White with a color-coordinated vinyl roof and an optional sunroof. Chrome trim accents the front grille, bumpers, rockers, fenders, mirrors, window trim, door handles, model designations, and turbine-style wheels with white-wall tires. The seller notes minor imperfections, including chrome pitting on the rear vent window and a small area on the front grille. Additionally, the headlight doors are said to malfunction. Detailed images are available in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with white leather, spanning the seats and door panels, contrasted by a black leather-wrapped dashboard. Genuine walnut wood veneers and chrome trim accentuate the interior, while black carpeting covers the floors. Equipment includes power-adjustable Twin Comfort Lounge seats, power windows, automatic climate control, multi-gauge instrumentation, a push-button radio, and various dashboard and overhead-mounted controls. The seller notes that the horn shaft is cracked, and the material below the driver’s door armrest is loose.
Beneath the hood lies a 460ci V8 engine producing 365 HP and 500 lb.-ft of torque stock to the rear wheels through a 3-speed C6 automatic transmission. Equipment includes independent front suspension with coil springs and a live rear axle with leaf springs, along with power-assisted brakes and steering. The seller states the battery was recently replaced, and additional service items are provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title and owner’s manuals.
The seller would like you to know: "This survivor is mostly original with its original paint, no rust, and no bubbles. A Florida car, it comes with all available options, including the super-rare power moonroof offered only on late 1971 models (only 1,050 were made). Elvis Presley owned two of these, including one at his Beverly Hills residence. The car is mechanically sound with recent work completed. It includes original manuals, warranties, and trophies from multiple shows. This rare survivor, with its amazing color combination and super-rare moonroof, is ready to be proudly shown or driven.”

@Archer1 I just posted some pictures of the top it’s definitely all a vinyl tweed material not canvas I don’t know how to wash it but maybe the right kind of soap and a power spray would make a huge difference and the sunroof has a corner on passenger side that still dosent line up in rear it was worse but by opening and closing a few times snapped back I’m
Not a mechanic but maybe some grease and a pry bar will snap the rest to line up but does work well

@veloce1964- Thank you for the video and great job on the headlight doors, one less thing to worry about. Is the sunroof covered with the tweed vinyl as the rest of the top( hard to see that detail in the video) and also appeared not lining up with the top (front and back) when in closed position. Thx
