It is our pleasure to offer this 1970 Porsche 914-6 finished in Canary Yellow over a black leatherette interior. Purchased new in 1971 from Nielo Porsche of Sacramento, CA., this 914-6 remained under the care of its original owner up until 1986 before changing hands twice and eventually being acquired by its current owner in 2012. Since then, the owner commissioned a full restoration within the last 3k miles at a cost of over $70k. An original California blue-plate car, this 1970 example retains its numbers-matching flat-six engine and is now being offered by its seller out of North Carolina accompanied by extensive documentation detailing the restoration as well as a complete history of ownership dating back to the original purchase.
In 2013, this 914-6 was brought to Jim Gordon’s Restoration in California to undergo a full restoration. The car was completely stripped and refinished in its original color of Canary Yellow during this time along with the installation of all-new seals, gaskets, exterior trim, and moldings. All of the original metalwork is said to have been retained. Restoration invoices are provided in the photo gallery and the seller describes the car to be in pristine condition throughout. 14” Fuchs wheels were also installed and fitted with new Michelin Exalto A/S tires.
Inside, the black leatherette interior has been entirely redone with all new carpeting and upholstery. Black and yellow Coco floor mats have been added and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly including the original Blaupunkt radio.
In contrast with the VW engine offered in the standard 914, this desirable model is equipped with an air-cooled 2.0 L flat-six carbureted engine sourced from the Porsche 911T. The original engine in this example is said to have fully rebuilt 8k miles prior to the restoration in 2012. It was fitted with upgraded 911E cams, an electric fuel pump, and MSD electronic ignition for improved performance and reliability. The rear wheels are driven through a numbers-matching 5-speed manual gearbox which was also completely gone-through and upgraded with a side-shift conversion. Routine oil changes are said to have been carried out ever since the restoration, and this 914-6 is reported to drive like new.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals and stamped warranty card, a toolkit, spare tire, an extensive collection of records, the original California blue license plate, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title. One of the most increasingly sought-after Porsches on the market, this 914-6 offers a perfect opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

@gbutler Thx for fast response. Looks like great restoration.
@msq mileage since restoration is 2800 and car had approx. 138k before restoration
Bid in the amount of $86,000
@gbutler The sidebar next to the cars description above lists mileage as 2,800, however in the actual description of the car the text says: "The original engine in this example is said to have fully rebuilt 8k miles prior to the restoration in 2012."
Is the 2,800 miles listed the mileage since the restoration? If so any idea what the true mileage of the car is?

This is a real nice example any Porsche collector would be proud to own. Nicely restored. Correct rear valance is hard to find on these cars. I have one, super fun to drive and own. Good luck with sale. With only about 3,000 made, few surviving with matching numbers and interesting color, this car IMO is a good investment anywhere north of $100K.
There IS a reserve... gorgeous car GLWTA

I started on a '73 2.0 back in '78, and have been a Porsche nerd ever since.
This one looks truly amazing. It's going to be $big, but what an opportunity!
Bid in the amount of $26,000
@gbutler thank you
@Hartclay -Car is original color and you are correct, per the COA the car originally came with the steel disc wheels and these have been replaced with correct size Fuch's. The owner does not have the original wheels. Yes, original motor with E cams and original transmission. Casting numbers match and floor mats are Coco mats.
I love these no reserve auctions
Bid in the amount of $15,000
Having owned 3 of these in my life with one in my garage it will be interesting to see what this car sells for. Best of luck to the seller.
Love your car a 914-6 has finally taken its place among the very cool vintage Porsches.

Yes please confirm all specs as a little confusing. Please clarify. Is it original, color and all specs, what mods have been made. Seems original motor and trans but aftermarket cam?... Please confirm and what mods have been made. Confirm casting numbers match the car. After all thAt, rims not stock? Do you have original? Also for clarification. Mats not original? Radio? What is and isn’t original? Potential bidder. Nice car.
Welcome to the auction of a truly immaculate 914-6. To reiterate some highlights, the car is a matching #'s (engine & transmission) car restored in it's original Canary yellow. The car was a California car until 2015 when it's owner relocated to South Carolina. During the restoration the unibody was in such good shape that it retains all of it's original panels - including the floor pans and battery box! To top it off, the car comes with original documentation highlighting it's first owner and the first few dealer services, as well as it's original California Blue license plate.
