Up for auction is this fully restored 1970 Porsche 914-6. The 914 was introduced as Porsche's premier mid-engine sports car, offering drivers both an open air and coupe-style experience thanks to its removable top. Being a 914-6 model, this car boasts a low production number, larger 6-cylinder engine (borrowed from the flagship 911), and upgraded factory options, making it one of the more desirable Porsches to own. This 914-6 currently shows 74k miles on the odometer and is said to have been in the hands of a collector for many years before being sold to the current owner who resides in New Jersey. Featuring a rotisserie restoration, beautifully running engine, and proper documentation, it is now ready to be fully enjoyed by its next owner.
The seller states that this car was completely restored approximately 10 years ago by Classic Showcase. It was first stripped to bare metal, re-finished in brilliant Silver Metallic, and then fitted with all proper parts including a Targa roof, fog lights, new rubber seals, grommets, and all new hardware. Correctly date coded forged Fuchs wheels are also installed and wear a set of brand new Pirelli tires. Overall, this 914-6 is said to be in exceptional cosmetic condition.
This 914-6 features a sleek black basket weave vinyl interior that was completely refinished with period correct materials including a Blaupunkt radio and fully functioning instrumentation. A desirable thicker leather steering wheel has also been installed (the original steering wheel will be included in the sale). Overall, the interior shows to be in excellent condition, still maintaining its original factory appearance.
This 914-6 is powered by a strong period-correct 2.2L flat-six engine that produces approximately 110HP. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a numbers matching 5-speed manual gearbox. The seller states that over $11k was recently spent on mechanical work, bringing this 914 to top-level running condition. The car has been updated with bronze shifter bushings, a rebuilt pedal box, stainless steel B & B exhaust headers/heat exchanges, Bursch tuned muffler, and restored Weber 40 IDTP 13C1's. A recent oil service and brake fluid flush were also performed, giving the next owner peace of mind.
The sale will include service records, a certificate of authenticity, owner's manual, complete tool kit, original air box, original steering wheel, and two sets of keys.

Hello all. I have done some more research on the engine. Here are the specifics. Also, I have submitted a picture of the engine number to PCar to upload as well:
Engine number 6105099
6= Engine designation for a 6 cylinder unit
1= Engine type T.
0= Model year 1970
5099= Sequential number (there were a total of 9089 1970 Porsche 911T’s produced)
This engine is actually a 2.2 Liter engine (66x84 mm = 2195 CC. 8.6.:1 Compression Ratio, 125 hp @ 5,800 rpm.

@jbelcredi I have just submitted several videos, one of driving, a drive by and a walk around of the car. I have also included new pictures of the rear ride height measurement and pictures of the original air box and fittings for the carbs. PCar will be uploading them shortly.

@jbelcredi Hello and thank you for your questions. I tried to do my best to show the details of the entire car with the photos in the gallery. Regarding flaws, I am not sure what else to show based on my photos. There paint is extremely nice with barely a blemish. The underside of the car is the same and the interior shows extremely well. You are correct about the missing door molding on the passenger side that was not noticed until you just pointing that out, thank you. The driver side rubber has a small tear towards the backside of the molding. When the restoration was done, we were told all the molding was replaced and based on the condition of it, it certainly appears that it has been. Regarding the ride height, it is spot on. Measuring from the ground in my shop to the top edge of each wheel well, they measure the same on each side. I believe what you might be seeing is unevenness in the location where the pictures were taken, but on a flat concrete floor, the car sits perfectly level and measures correctly. All the gauges and radio work properly as they should. Regarding numbers matching, there is a photo in the gallery showing the transmission number which also coincides with the number on the COA. However, we are not representing this car as a numbers matching engine. As the listing states, it is a period correct 2.0L engine from a 911 T that was rebuilt during the restoration. The date stamps on the wheels are correct as well which there are pictures in the gallery of as well. If there is anything you would like a specific picture of, please don't hesitate to ask, and I will be happy to provide you with them. I hope my answers were helpful.
@jbelcredi Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures or videos of the restoration. I will be posting videos of the car at start up, running and driving tomorrow which will be the first sunny day to get them done in a week. Sorry for the delay on this.
Do you have any pics detailing restoration flaws or missed items? Close up shots of flaws?
I noticed missing bottom door seal passenger side, cut/cracked bottom door seal drivers side. Was all of the rubber / seals changed, doors, roof, windows, etc.?
Do all of the gauges work properly? Radio, speakers etc..
Looking at the picture of the car from the rear, it seems that the suspension is sagging on the left hand side. Has the ride height been checked and adjusted since restoration?
Can you provide pics of the stamped numbers to verify all components are original and that it is an original number matching car?
