The 1970 model year saw the first major update to the original Porsche 911 with a larger 2.2-liter flat-six engine. This 1970 Porsche 911T Coupe is finished in Black over a matching interior and is said to have spent nearly 25 years in dry storage before it was acquired by the seller out of Kentucky. It features a rebuilt engine by specialist David Bustamente with Zenith carburetors, upgraded Carrera chain tensioners and lower valve covers, an overhauled braking system, and restored factory 15” Fuchs wheels. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this 911T is being offered for auction out of California.
This 911T is finished in Black and features 911S-style lower rocker moldings, chrome headlight bezels and rear bumperettes, a Talbot-style mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, anodized gold rear model lettering, and a polished tailpipe. The car rides on freshly restored 15” Fuchs alloy wheels dressed in new Continental tires. The seller states the bodywork is straight and free of rust, the weatherstripping is in good condition, and several areas have been refinished including the rear decklid and tail panel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black leatherette interior has been refurbished with new carpeting and a headliner. Accessories include bucket seats with headrests and three-point safety belts, door panel storage pockets, folding rear seatbacks, pop-out vent windows, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, woodgrain dashboard trim, optional 911S-type instrumentation, and a vintage Becker Europa AM/FM stereo. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly apart from the clock.
The air-cooled 2.2-liter flat-six engine is said to have been rebuilt by Porsche specialist David Bustamente and has been driven approximately 400 miles since. The work included new bearings, rings, gaskets, and a valve job. It features upgraded Turbo lower valve covers, oil-fed Carrera chain tensioners, and rebuilt Zenith carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 901 manual transaxle. The braking system is said to have been completely overhauled and includes new cross-drilled rotors at each corner.
This sale will include a clean title.
