Since the seller’s acquisition approximately 25 years ago, this 1970 Porsche 911E Coupe has been fitted with RSR-style bumpers, custom fender flares, a ducktail rear spoiler, and several lightweight interior modifications. Finished in Guards Red, it has been further upgraded with a 3.4L flat-six paired with a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle, Elgin camshafts, an MSD ignition box, and more. This unique 911 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

This 911E has been refinished in Guards Red and modified with RSR-style fiberglass bumpers, widened rear fender flares, and a fiberglass rear ducktail spoiler. Details also include black-finished horn grilles, window trim, decklid air vent slats, and a matching later-model driver’s side mirror. The car rides on staggered-width 16” Fuchs wheels with body-colored centers, colored Porsche crests, and Riken front & Michelin rear tires reported to be in like-new condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The black interior has been reimagined with a host of lightweight race-focused equipment. Modifications include Corbeau GT seats with Simpson harnesses, RS-style door pulls, a red-finished roll cage, a tilted AutoMeter tachometer, a later-model VDO speedometer & odometer, a radio-delete panel, and an aftermarket steering wheel. The seller adds that new black carpets and a white headliner were added approximately 10 years ago. The oil level gauge and clock are currently inoperable, and the speedometer reads about 2 MPH off due to the larger rear tires.

Power has been upgraded with a larger 3.4L flat-six engine paired with a 1972 911-derived 5-speed 915 manual transaxle. Equipment includes Elgin camshafts, Weber 46 carburetors & headers, and an MSD ignition box. The seller states the rebuilt engine and transmission have been driven approximately 900 miles, and yearly oil changes have been performed under their ownership.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "I have owned this car for over 25 years. It has always been garaged and with only 900 miles driven since built and was never driven in the rain- only on sunny days. The car is extremely fast."

@G8tor80 There are no service records other than I changed the oil every 12 months. The front trunk is not painted just the original red. I will take pictures in the morning.

  • G8tor80 (registered bidder) 8 months, 3 weeksago

Do you have any service records or receipts of the work that has been performed that you could post? Also any way you could remove the carpeting and take pictures of the frunk?

    @PORCOR Hey Bob,
I did not receive the message to look at the car. I check my messages frequently.

  • Gary9146gt (seller) 8 months, 3 weeksago

    There is no A/C.

  • CrowFl (registered bidder) 8 months, 3 weeksago

Hi I’m down in South Florida 2 1/2 hours south of you. Just wondering if it has A/C? Most of these amazing rebuilds don’t ,but just asking . Thanks

  • Gary9146gt (seller) 8 months, 4 weeksago

@PORCOR Hi Bob, Thanks for your inquiry. The paint was done about 15 years ago and still looks like the day it was painted. The engine was built a couple years later. The engine only has 915 miles on it. I installed a new fuel tank last year, new fuel pump, new fuel pressure regulator. I also had the 46mm carbs rebuilt.

  • PORCOR (registered bidder) 8 months, 4 weeksago

Just a great looking modified. Is there a timeline posted for the paint and engine install ? Thanks,Bob

@Gary9146gt if you’re able to capture where the reflector connects, that would be great. Thank you

  • Gary9146gt (seller) 9 monthsago

I want to comment on the headliner. One of the photos may look like it is loose, but that is the shadow from the roll bar.

  • Gary9146gt (seller) 9 monthsago

@robbylou The previous owner had it installed. It looks like this was a conversion kit. I can take photo of both ends and have it uploaded if you want.

Great car. Is the rear center reflector molded in (e.g., with fiberglass or similar)? Trying to make sense of big job vs small job to return it to the early license plate center panel and bumper corners. Thanks

  • Gary9146gt (seller) 9 monthsago

This was a Southwest car and there is no RUST. The fuel tank and fuel level sender is new.

  • Gary9146gt (seller) 9 monthsago

@stuttgartcentral I will start with the upgrades to the suspension. The front torsion bars are 21mm and 22mm sway bar. The rear has 28mm torsion bars with a 22mm sway. There are adjustable rear spring plates and aluminum trailing arms. The front struts have Koni yellow adjustable. The brakes have been upgraded with a 23mm master cylinder and stainless steel brake lines. The front has Wilwood 4 piston calipers with 1989 rotors. The rear has 1989 calipers and rotors. The 1989 rotors are thicker starting in 1984. If I have not answered a specific item let me know. Gary

@Slantbird I live in Palm Coast FL, it is 30 mins north of Daytona.Yes I am always here if you would want to view and drive. Like I said very very fast and fun to drive. Gary

  • Slantbird (registered bidder) 9 monthsago

@Gary9146gt Thanks Gary. Just sent you a direct message about viewing the car.

  • Gary9146gt (seller) 9 monthsago

@Slantbird The engine was a 1989 3.2 and the Porsche shop rebuilt the engine using forged Male pistons and ARP rod bolts to make a 3.4. They ordered cams from Elgin which are fairly fat. They really come on strong 2500 to 7000 RPM. Please let me know if you have any other questions. My interest has changed and I just don’t. Drive the car. My back ground is many many years of drag racing and road racing. Gary
