This 1970 Porsche 911T Coupe was acquired by the previous owner at Rennsport Reunion VI in 2018 from another owner who redid the interior and installed custom 911R-style bodywork. The car has since been fitted with a rebuilt European-spec 3.0-liter 911SC engine featuring Weber 40 IDA3C carburetors, PMO intakes, ARP head studs, Turbo valve covers, hydraulic chain tensioners, MSD ignition, and a 911R-style exhaust. It has also been equipped with Bilstein shocks, aluminum tailing arms, welded strut tower supports, and a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle with a Tarett Engineering shift coupler. It was enjoyed by the previous owner over the past several years on local rallies and car shows, PCA events, weekend drives, and Porsche gatherings including Luftgekühlt in October 2023. Sold on PCARMARKET in late 2023, this 911T is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
This 911T was refurbished and modified under prior ownership with rust repairs and the installation of fiberglass bodywork including 911R-style bumpers, fenders, doors, a hood, and a rear decklid. The car is finished in white and decorated with custom racing graphics. Accessories include Cibie hood lights, a side number light, louvered rear quarter windows, a Plexiglas rear window, a polished driver’s side mirror, and 911R-style taillights, markers, and door handles. It rides on 15” Fuchs wheels that were mounted with Michelin TB-15 vintage racing tires in 2019. The seller notes all the graphics are removable decals and some signs of wear and patina are visible throughout the exterior. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, this 911T features a black interior that has been stripped of carpeting and fitted with a pair of GT 911R bucket seats, a roll bar, Schroth safety harnesses, Heuer rally timers, and 911R-style door panels with slide-up windows. Other accessories include a leather dashboard, rubber floor mats, a map light, auxiliary switches for the exterior lights, additional VDO oil pressure and voltage gauges, and custom gauges by John Bell including a 911R 10k-rpm tachometer and 250-kph speedometer. A Speedpilot rally computer has also been installed but is not connected due to the electronic pickup on the 915 transaxle. All other gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-six engine which was sourced from European-spec 1979 Porsche 911SC and rebuilt with ARP head studs, Turbo lower valve covers, hydraulic Carrera chain tensioners, a 911R-stye exhaust with headers, MSD ignition, and Italian Weber 40 IDA3C carburetors with PMO intakes. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle with a Tarett Engineering shift coupler. The car also features aluminum trailing arms, Bilstein shocks, a welded front strut brace, and rear strut tower supports. Service completed in recent years under prior ownership includes a new fuel tank and center-mounted filler neck, a new fuel pump, valve cover gaskets, distributor cap & rotor, a new ignition coil, spark plugs, batteries, a new alternator, an oil and filter change, and rebuilt carburetors with new intake gaskets.
This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.

@khan654 I’ve already addressed this in the comments. Please read through them and you will find the answer.
@khan654 I never saw the car before I got it so I can’t say about rust.
A grinder or sawzall would make quick work of removing the roll bar.
The car is road legal in Florida. Your state may vary.
The front bonnet is fiberglass and installed with the intent of making a cool hot rod and not a concourse beauty. Fiberglass parts rarely fit seamlessly and unless you want to spend many, many hours getting them just right, they don’t fit 100% correctly.
The car is what it is. A super cool ripper of a hot rod. It wins beauty contests because of its uniqueness and purpose, not because of its factory like finish.
This was sold in Dec 2023, was there a reason it was sold back in just couple of months?

How bad was the rust?
And how hard will it be to remove those roll cage bars and put in rear seats? Is it street legal now with current inspection and registration?
The frunk or front hood seem to have some gap when closed... do you know why?
@perrywestfield Nope, no heat.
hi, neat car. does it have heat and/or fan, bit worried about driving in cool washington state pacific weather.
thank you
Less than an hour to go !!
@posix They do. The car also has two auxilary oil pressure gauges. One on a pod under the dash and one mounted on the oil pressure sender unit on the engine.
@seller, does the oil pressure and temperature gauge work properly? I couldn’t see in the video too clearly

All these god cars don't seem to have back seats.. bummer.
I agree with the fuel thing.. I don't have 911 but 83 380SL, German engineering... the fuel gauge is not always accurate and tilts back and forth for reserve line.
Potential Buyers: Bid in confidence as this seller knows these cars inside and out.

@Somer Believe me I wish I had a more proper place to shoot a video. That was on perimeter Road around the Fort Lauderdale airport. About as best as I can find in the area.
@Somer That red light is the low fuel light. You’ll notice every time I turn left it comes on and when I straighten out it turns back off. Put some more fuel in it and no more light. I love easy fixes haha
In the driving video about 4:40 mark a red light comes on . What is it? ( Hopefully not oil!). That's the fastest Ive ever seen a car go in Miami traffic! I liked the E.Tennessee video more though! ;-) .

I’ve seen the car itself, but I know the seller1. @Drola is a very knowledgeable and passionate Porsche guy. He shares his knowledge, experience, and expertise with the many Porsche owners in south Florida. RESPECT. I’d buy it myself, but I also live in the “mean, flat, straight…” enclave of south Florida. Great car!
Saw this car in person. It just exudes character and vintage motorsport. Tons of quirky period correct details and accessories (such as the rally dash map light). Just the 3.0 engine is a great investment. The combination of lightweight chassis, engine, and exhaust makes for a unique vintage car. Buyer will be happy. Looks and performance.
@Matthew_VA Thanks Matt !! Indeed it is a great car with character to spare. If i lived near some mountains i would never sell it.
@PCARMARKET Thanks @Pcarmarket. I was about to answer something sarcastic which would probably not help me lol
@Cole against policy
No value in knowing as it can be removed at any time
So darn tempting! Great 911 but even better seller!
What is the reserve amount?
Bid in the amount of $1,911
@Coldbru Nothing really "happened". I got the car in on trade from the dealer who bought it the first go around. I've been driving it around here in south Florida and it gets tons of looks and thumbs up. But the mean, flat, straight and traffic heavy streets of Miami are no place for this car. This beauty really deserves to be out in the open country, on mountain roads and generally in any other condition rather than sitting in city traffic.
That was a quick love affair. What happened?

@timtoohey Thanks for the tip !!
@robbylou Since the last auction the car has had a carpet kit and door panels installed prior to my receipt of the car. I took the carbs apart to clean them out (they were actually pretty clean) since it was not running right and found the accelerator jet on #5 cylinder was clogged. Used a sync tool to set the carbs as best I could. I also put new spark plugs and the car is now running as best as I can get it.
@robbylou Speedometer does not work due to the 915 transmission being an electronic pick up style and the speedo being a mechanical style. The 915 does not have the output for the cable to connect to the speedo. the cable is still there and if someone would want to go back to a 901 or an early 915 it would hook up and function again. The other solution would be to put a later speedo and wire it up, or just get a gps speedo with the face to match.
see Duck & Whale magazine issue #5 from 2017 - great article and photos of a 911r of similiar exterior color.
Any thoughts on the non-functional speedometer? Has anything been done to the car after the last auction? Thanks
*Raw not wrong Siri !!
