Produced between 1957 and 1975, the Fiat 500 has gained recognition throughout the vintage car world for its compact size and unmistakable design. In 1968, Fiat introduced the 500L or Lusso as the higher-end version featuring chrome bumper guards, additional storage space, and a premium trim package. Imported from Italy and refinished in green over a reupholstered tan vinyl interior, this 500L is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.

This 500L has been refinished in its current shade of green. Details include a retractable black soft top, tubular chrome bumper guards, bright chrome trim, bright window trim, a driver’s door mirror, and a vented engine cover. It rides on 12” steel wheels dressed in Continental tires from 2003. The seller notes a 1” crack in the paint. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin presents tan vinyl upholstery which spans the front bucket seats, rear bench, and door panels. The seller states the vinyl seat covers and matching carpets were replaced approximately 10 years ago. Equipment includes a black two-spoke steering wheel, 3-point seatbelts, roll-up windows, and a center console storage bin.

This 500L is equipped with a rear-mounted 499cc air-cooled inline-twin engine, which sends power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller states that routine maintenance has been carried out under their ownership, including oil, fuel, & filter changes, spark plug & wire replacements, and a battery change. Additionally, the fuel pump and generator belt have been replaced.

This sale will include a clean title, a toolkit, and a spare tire. 

The seller would like you to know: “This car was originally purchased for and driven seasonally by my mom for driving in town and to and from the beach.  As such, it is perhaps the best-running and maintained Fiat of the 25+ that we have imported and sold. The car has never been driven in the snow during our ownership and has always been garaged indoors in a climate-controlled garage.
