The Datsun 240Z launched Nissan’s iconic Z-car series, celebrated for its stylish design and dependable performance. Powered by a 2.4-liter inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, this Series I example was refurbished and is refinished white over blue vinyl upholstery. It features chrome bumpers, rear window louvers, power-assisted front disc brakes, 14” slotted wheels, a Mishimoto radiator and coolant overflow reservoir, and more. This 240Z is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Michigan.

The Datsun 240Z features a streamlined, aerodynamic design with smooth contours, a long front, a short rear deck, and a fastback profile. This example underwent a refurbishment, including disassembly, bare-metal stripping, block sanding, and a fresh white repaint. The body panels were also repaired, and the chrome bumpers and rear hatch weather stripping were replaced. It has dual side mirrors, rear window louvers, hatch-mounted vents, vertical defroster elements, and a 240Z C-pillar badging. It rides on silver-finished 14” slotted wheels with Arizonian Silver Edition III tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The interior features blue vinyl bucket seats extending to the door panels, complemented by carpeted floor mats, a padded center armrest, and diamond-pattern trim along the transmission tunnel and rear shock towers. Pioneer speakers are installed in the rear cargo area, while the dashboard has a cover affixed over existing cracks. The horn and radio are inoperative, and the air conditioning system has been removed.

Power comes from a 2.4-liter L24 inline-six engine equipped with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and dual SU carburetors, which delivers a factory-rated 151 HP and 146 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. In May 2023, the spark plugs, wires, and battery were replaced, and an aluminum Mishimoto radiator along with a coolant overflow reservoir were installed. Stopping power is facilitated by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.

@CarNut2 just for display... the car came from California but has a Michigan title now.
Why are these retro black license plates on the car? Are they for display purposes only? Or does the car have any form of a California title remaining? In fact, this most likely would have had a California six digit blue plate when it was new, if it was in California at that time.
@CarNut2 thanks for the bid! Final day... who's taking this Z home?
