Introduced in 1967 as the successor to the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, the Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce introduced a more powerful 1,779cc twin-cam engine equipped with SPICA fuel injection, revised suspension tuning, larger front brakes, refreshed styling, and an updated interior. This 1971 example underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2016, which included a fresh blue repaint, a reupholstered leather interior, replacement floor pans and body panels, an engine rebuild, and a transmission overhaul. It comes equipped with performance and aesthetic enhancements, including Weber carburetors, GTA-style door handles, an Alfaholics exhaust system, a refurbished steering box, 14″ wheels, front lower spring perches, and much more. This tastefully refurbished and modified GTV is now being offered for auction by its seller out of South Carolina.
The Bertone-designed body was refinished in blue by Vintage Customs in Tacoma, Washington, in 2016. The refurbishment included replacing the right front fender, rear taillight panel, and floor pans, along with repairs to the inner and outer rocker panels. GTA-style door handles were added, and the fuel filler door was removed. Exterior features include body-color dual side mirrors, quad headlights, chrome trim, and pop-out rear windows. It rides on 14” Alfaholics wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin offers flying buttress front bucket seats and a contoured rear bench that were reupholstered in gray leather. It is equipped with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, AutoMeter gauges, a replacement headliner, door panels, an Alfaholics dashboard, an aftermarket short shifter, and a trunk-mounted Bluetooth amplifier.
The grey-finished engine compartment houses a 1,779cc twin-cam inline-four, reportedly rebuilt by Nelson Race Engines in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2021 with Kent Cams camshafts, high-compression pistons, and a ported cylinder head and intake manifold. The engine was reinstalled in June 2024 and features a tubular header, dual Weber carburetors with velocity stacks, two Gold Flo Facet fuel pumps, and MSD ignition. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt 5-speed manual transmission with replacement synchros, hubs, and a second-gear dog ring. Performance upgrades include an Alfaholics exhaust system, Koni shocks, aftermarket springs, Alfaholics front lower spring perches, and a billet steering box. The car is factory-equipped with independent double-wishbone front suspension with an anti-roll bar, paired with a live axle, lower trailing arms, and a reaction trunnion in the rear. Four-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted front rotors facilitate stopping power.

@RHWard3rd Pleasure meeting you today and letting me drive your exquisite Zagato! Fun times. @oakhurstdon This is a 1970 1750 GTV Euro. Not sure how it was turned into a Spica Injected 71, but it is a 70. I agree, the short shifter at first is "odd", but if it does not appeal to the top bidder, I assure you it will be removed and replaced with stock set up. I have other cars I would gladly use this in.

I test drove this car today.
Basically, imagine an R Gruppe member bought an Alfa, and did the thing.
The short shifter, while incongruous at first, made all the sense in the world when you were wrestling through tight turns and wanted to keep the revs up, and didn't have a lot of time for long throw Alfa shifts.
The exterior is stunning.
Again, you forgive the quirks (gas tank, air/fuel digital gauge, etc) when you think 'R Gruppe Alfa'. It all makes sense.
Now, who should buy this? People with turns and twists. People with freeways will not like it.
Sadly, I'm a flat city streets and freeways person, so I'm wisely passing.
All of the correct mods on this beauty. Very tempting!

Really? Maybe I am on the wrong website. Anyone have a real question about this build? Yes, It is not original. Yes it is a badass 55 year old Alfa Romeo that you will not see at your local Car and Coffee meet. It was built to be driven and driven hard, period. Feel free to ask any questions, I have a long history with this car.
It has an aluminum replacement fuel tank. That is why there is no fuel filler flap. The other "Business" is a blue tooth amplifier. There is absolutely no fuel smell. The sending unit did not work with the original gauge, so a replacement gauge is installed. I do have all original gauges, but why? This is updating a 55 year old car to be more reliable and made to be driven, Not a garage queen.
Do you have the original tachometer? Is that the fuel filler that's been relocated to the trunk? Any fuel odor in the car?
I see the spare tire and battery in the trunk, what's that other business?

No dyno info. Seat of the pant's dyno says about 160. It is a very robust 1750.
What's the HP of the motor, was the car dyno.
@mkvi30 all GTV have that recessed appearance, was for more headroom in the back, assuming somebody sat there!
