The butt-welded, hand-shaped steel body is finished in red and includes chrome exterior brightwork, chrome bumpers, pop-out rear quarter windows, bullet-style front indicator lights, and a set of eight-spoke wheels dressed in Vredestein tires from 2017. The seller notes some texture in areas of the paintwork as well as a patch of corrosion on the underside of the car, detailed images can be found in the gallery.
The cabin is upholstered in beige vinyl. A new woodgrain applique was applied to the dashboard and the carpets, door panels, sill plates, and headliner have all been replaced. Features include an upgraded set of VDO gauges, a tachometer in place of the original clock, an oil pressure gauge, three-point seatbelts, a Nardi steering wheel, a Gene Berg 12” shifter, and a set of Coco floor mats.
Power comes from an upgraded air-cooled 1,914 cc flat-four engine driving the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine features a new magnesium block as well as new bearings, cam lifters, rocker shafts, Chromoly rods, a high-volume oil pump, and an Empi euro-style muffler. The suspension has been upgraded with adjustable coilovers in the front, KYB shocks in the rear, custom sway bars, and a Stiffy 6-point support bar system.

@MichaelMatho I has had positive experience with Montway. If you do ship, use an enclosed method. There are several good shippers and all will give you a competitive rate to do so.
Hello,
Would you be OK working out shipping this beauty to California? Do you know of a good shipper?
Thank you,
Michael

@928GTS We have been to several car shows and I have not seen any Ghia...Beetles yes but this 1969 Ghia stands out and alone in the category.
@Dom33 Diamond Blue. the original color
@928GTS Would look awesome together, what color is the beetle?
I saw a Pastel Green example this weekend with two surfboards tied up on top of it, What a vibe!
My 1969 refurbished beetle needs some company and then my wife can drive her choice to the car shows.

@qdn212 I think you would have a great time zipping around in the very special car. It has been a real head turner when we go out with it. Most can call out a '55 Chevy Bel Air or a '56 Vette. Few can call out a '69 Ghia.
I also have a current wegolook.com Report that was VERY favorable about all aspects of the car. I will make that available if interested.
Talk about a sentimental journey. This was my first car. Bought it used from my brother. $750. He drove a hard bargain. Loved it. No room for it though I'm tempted. Drive a 911S now so I suspect the Ghia would test my patience.

@CoDDrvr There currently is no radio but one could be installed.
Heat is regulated by floor levers in front and rear footwells.
No radio or heater of any kind??
Purchased as a birthday gift for wife to revive fond memories she had driving her Kharmann Ghia from the Midwest to California and back. However, the Ghia she drove then was an automatic and this is a stick. She is unable to drive a stick. Hence, why it is on the market. If you are a Ghia fan, this one is something special.
