With a production run spanning over 60 years, the Beetle presents distinctive styling and is recognized as one of the most culturally significant automobiles of all time. Refinished in a red metallic shade over grey and red upholstery, this 1969 example has been customized as a “Baja Bug,” incorporating an exposed engine and rear engine cage. Benefitting from a previous engine rebuild, this custom Beetle is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This example has been refinished in deep red metallic paint with chrome bodyside trim. Details also include chrome headlight bezels, additional off-road lights, and aftermarket vintage-style 8-spoke wheels. A silver front bumper has been installed, complemented by a matching rear engine cage that protects the exposed engine while functioning as a reinforced bumper, attributing to its “Baja Bug” recreation. The cabin has been reupholstered with grey and red cloth spanning the seats and door panels. Equipment includes a leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel, a 90-MPH speedometer, roll-up windows, a locking glovebox, and black carpets. The radio has been removed.
Power comes from a 1600cc air-cooled flat-four engine, driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle. The seller states the engine was previously rebuilt and recommends fitting a new exhaust system.

Aside from recommending fitting a new exhaust system, the car does Not have leaks, no issues with the engine, trans, electrical, or brakes that I have been made aware of. Bid at your comfort level and enjoy!
