Featuring an upgraded 3.0-liter flat-six engine with PMO carburetors and twin-plug MSD ignition, this 1969 Porsche 911S Coupe was used for HSR and SVRA racing events under prior ownership before it was recently converted into a road-legal Carrera RSR tribute. Equipment includes a Type 915 5-speed manual transaxle, 935-style front suspension, adjustable coilovers, upgraded brakes, RSR-style bodywork, a roll cage, lightweight door panels, fixed-back bucket seats, a JWest Engineering shifter, and more. This 911S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee.
Under previous ownership, this 911S Coupe was fitted with fiberglass RSR-style bumpers, fender flares, and a ducktail rear spoiler. It was recently refinished in yellow and decorated with contrasting black Carrera script graphics. Other details include hood and decklid straps, front and rear tow hooks, a lightweight Plexiglas rear window, and a driver’s side mirror. The car rides on polished Maxilite 15” Fuchs-style wheels measuring 9” wide in front and 12” wide in the rear, dressed in new Michelin Racing tires. The seller notes some dullness in the paint and minor fitment issues with the fiberglass bodywork. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Formerly stripped for racing, the cabin has been recently fitted with carpeting, RS-style door panels, roll-up windows, a factory four-spoke steering wheel, and a pair of fixed-back bucket seats. Other equipment includes a full roll cage, aftermarket Auto Meter gauges, an M&R safety harness, a JWest Engineering shifter, oil cooler lines, a Phoenix fire suppression system, custom switches, and a Traqmate data acquisition system.
Reportedly sourced from a Porsche 930, the 3.0-liter flat-six engine has been modified with PMO carburetors, a twin-plug MSD ignition system, a JB Racing distributor, exhaust headers, dual Holley fuel pumps, and a Fuel Safe fuel cell. The rear wheels are driven through a Type 915 5-speed manual transaxle. The braking system includes 930 front calipers with slotted rotors, updated four-piston rear calipers with cross-drilled rotors, and a Wilwood proportioning valve. The suspension also features a 935-style front end, monoball bushings, and adjustable coilovers. Records show the engine was rebuilt in 2014 with approximately 32 hours of run time since.

Milder cams will I believe increase the dynamic compression. You will likely destroy the engine by running pump gas…
Sell the engine and replace or full rebuild with new p/c and likely cams but then the heads may be ported too much for that setup …slippery slope you have going down that road .
Is it possible to run pump gas on this car? Retard timing and adjust carbs? Maybe milder cams? I didn’t see specs on engine build. What compression ratio pistons and cam specs?
Also, Tachometer is woking properly. I had it switch to recall in the video. Switched back to tach an operation as it should. Thanks! Miles
@twickes40 More-so I am referring to the the drivetrain work, the suspension, chassie work, brakes etc. The fiberglass bodywork is what it is coming from a race car background. But as an outlaw, the work done to the chassis and mechanicals are top notch. Dawe has a great reputation for building and construction. This is not a concours car but the level of perfomance built into it is very high. So that is more what I am referring to.

@Miles.S I'm sorry, I don't know if I agree that "this is a really well built and put together car." The exterior looks very sloppy, even in these bad photos. Paint/clearcoat runs on nearly every panel, painted over rivets, sunken in rear taillights, thick flaking bondo in the rear fenders, poorly aligned panels and a plethora of other issues raise a red flag for me on the quality of this build.
@Miles.S If Peter built the car, especially the engine, I guarantee it was done right and the car was most likely very competitive.

Hi All, wanted to check in for the last few hours of Auction.
This is a really well built and put together car. Incredibly fun to drive. To duplicate then car would be incredibly expensive. These engines are expensive to build, I would guess it was probably $60k ish for the engine and gearbox in the car. Lots of fun to be had. The car can be enjoyed as it is for spirited drives or some really exciting road rallies.

From the pics it appears that the tach switch is in the recall position. It will display the highest rpm since it was last reset , until the reset button is pushed.
So it appears to be recalling 9800 rpm. I’ll let you decide what that means.

@PorschePhanatic The panel fitment is a result of the fiberglass. These fiberglass panels always leave a little room for improvement. Front windows work. Frames were painted black. I am going to run the car in the AM and check the tach. It was working, I had played with a couple of the buttons and think I did something. Ill report back in the AM. Thank you! Miles

This car was previously blue exterior, with white interior. Is the yellow exterior color - paint or a wrap?
Road legal… maybe, but by no means is this anything but a race car and likely a good one. GLWA.

@TFerrer Fenders, hood, bumpers, and decklid all fiberglass. The dash has been cut and opened up for the kneebar and current dash setup.

@gman71b Nothing has changed since the build. I was told has 32 hours and a refresh would be needed in 8 hours of race driving. That is just a suggestion if you are running road races. Driving around town or using as a weekend track toy, it will be good to go for a long time. The engine is built to go. Really quick car. Runs 110 fuel.

@Havenhearth Tach is working. I believe it has a recall switch which will display high and low rpm. Think I may have hit that.
Decent headroom in this car and 911s in general. You can play with seats and height in these as well. Some very tall people fit comfortably in these.

Engine has about 32 hours on it so 8 hours of run time remain before next scheduled tear down/rebuild. Is it safe to assume nothing has changed with the internals of the engine? Still runs on 110?
