Positioned above the base 911T, the Porsche 911E was introduced for the 1969 model year using the new long-wheelbase platform and a flat-six engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. This example is one of 1,014 Porsche 911E Coupes produced with Karmann bodywork. It was acquired by the seller in 2019 from its long-term previous owner of 25 years and is now being offered for auction out of Wyoming as the basis for a complete restoration.
The bodywork of this Karmann Coupe has been stripped and prepped for paint with a coat of primer. It features chrome window trim, headlight rings, and door handles, pop-out rear quarter windows, a polished driver’s side mirror, and factory 14” x 5.5” Fuchs wheels. The seller notes the tires are older, some rust is present on the floor pan, and the included front suspension pan needs to be installed. The seller adds that the body panel gaps are consistent and there are no signs of accident damage. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The black leatherette interior has been fitted with a pair of later-model grey leather seats and a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel. The seller indicates the original gauges have been retained and an aftermarket radio and speakers have been installed. The rear seat bottoms are missing, the carpeting and rubber seals need to be replaced, and the front seat cushions are torn. A significant amount of wear and patina are present throughout the cabin.
This 911E is equipped with an air-cooled 2.0-liter flat-six engine featuring Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle and stopping power comes from disc brakes at each corner. Images of the engine compartment and undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This 69E is a great car for restoration. Minor rust and excellent panel fit will make this an easy resto. My first Porsche 911 was a 69E but I have too many projects and will never get to this car. Good luck with bidding.”

@1974Bronco
All electrical is present including the engine bay electrical panel with the CDI box.
For a 1969 model the electrical connections are at the back of the engine bay behind the engine. This is a one year only setup.
1970 on used a multi connector at the back driver’s side corner of the engine compartment.

Car is sold as pictured.
It is a restoration project as advertised.
Final hours for this auction.
Keep the bids coming.
Best I can tell all engine bay electrical appears to be missing, do you have it and if so post a picture
Can you tell us it the front electrical melt down also made it to the engine harness, CDI and electrical components in the engine bay?

Looks like the car was previously green.
Engine number is 6292033
Bid in the amount of $6,000
Do you know what the original color was for the car?
Can you quote the engine number and show picture of it.
Thank you!
Bid in the amount of $5,250
I don’t have a COA for this car so can’t confirm.
Engine turns over easily.
Correct engine type for a 69E.
Does the engine have matching numbers?
Does the engine need a complete rebuild?
Thanks, Joe
@phwhite101
It’s all ready for you to start sanding.
All it takes is elbow grease!
I will try to find some data.
What are you trying to body swap?
@PcarLiquidators I did and seemed to find a few different numbers. Maybe its just because I know absolutely nothing about Pcars, so not sure which numbers are the right ones. I just know this looks like a great candidate for a body swap project I'm looking to do, but 3" could make a big difference, so was just hoping to get it right is all.
Love the color, is this a paint to sample special order? Good luck in your auction.
@halocars
It might be more accurate to just google the wheelbase and front and rear track for a 1969 911E.
It’s probably been published in every car magazine Available numerous times as well as sales literature from Porsche.
Would it be possible to get a measurement on the wheelbase(center hub to center hub front to back), and width (from outside of the tire to outside of the tire front & rear)?

Welcome to my latest Porsche auction.
This car is a great foundation for a restoration or hot rod build. There is minor rust on the floors but rockers and longitudinals are solid.
Replacement front pan was fitted by previous owner but never finished.
Engine turns over easily and was running big just a few years ago before the stalled work on the car began.
Here is a chance to get into a great project and build the car the way you want it.
Please ask as many questions as you need. I will try to answer.
@dpma
Engine turns over easily.
Hasn’t been run in over 3 years.
Does the engine turn over? How long since it has run?
