One of 4,855 Jaguar fixed-head coupes made between 1968 and 1971, this second series E-Type, or XK-E, comes finished in Willow Green over tan leather upholstery. It comes equipped with a dual-carbureted 4.2-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that sends power to the rear wheels through a synchronized 4-speed manual transmission, along with 15” wire wheels, a Philips push-button AM/FM radio, console-integrated speakers, and more. The car reportedly stayed with the original owner's family until 2005 and was purchased by the current owner in January 2019. This XKE coupe is now being offered for auction by the seller on the owner's behalf, accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.

This example was factory-specified in Willow Green, and the seller notes some areas have been refinished. Notable features of the second series E-Type include a wraparound rear bumper, larger front indicators, removal of the glass headlight covers, repositioned tail lights, and a larger front grille. Other details include wraparound chrome bumpers, matching trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and driver’s side mirror, polished dual exhaust outlets, and 16” wire wheels dressed in Pirelli P400 tires. The seller notes some cosmetic blemishes, additional images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the driver and passenger are provided tan leather upholstery with matching door panels and carpets. The equipment also includes a color-coordinated rear cargo area, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Smiths instrumentation, a locking glovebox, a Philips push-button AM/FM radio, and speakers integrated within the console. The seller notes the analog clock is currently non-functional and the brake warning light is constantly illuminated.

This XK-E is powered by a 4.2-liter DOHC inline six-cylinder engine equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and an aftermarket aluminum radiator. The rear wheels are driven via a 4-speed manual transmission. Standard features include an independent coil-spring rear suspension, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and a synchromesh gearbox. The seller adds that the voltage regulator has been replaced during the current ownership.

This sale will include a clean title.

@HisMajesty it does have some fluid leaks. We took some pictures underneath the car, but we didn't have access to a lift at this time but if you need more please get our info from PCar market I'll be here with the vehicle until the end of the auction to provide more info if needed. I'll upload those photos asap. In short it appears fluid is leaking around the oil pan, some around the transmission and some around the rear diff. The car hasn't been moved in at least a month from its current spot and there is only some slight spots on the floor from these leaks. As for the suspension it doesn't appear to have any damage that stands out, and during the test drive the vehicle seemed to drive and handle as to be expected not indicating any suspension issues.

@AK9eleven the radio does work and the car does not have A/C. The only switch that does not appear to work is the map light and we would believe it likely just needs a new bulb.

Hello? Can you tell us if it leaks?

I desire a better view of the underside to note the condition of suspension bushings and see if there is any damage. I also want to know where the oil leaks are; it would help if you tell us where it leaks and how much.

And I would be VERY surprised if there is A/C on this car.

  • ISBK (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@HisMajesty I'm not sure if we will be able to accomplish that before the end of the auction, but we'll try. Is there something in particular you are concerned about that we could possibly clarify for you?

  • ISBK (seller) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@AK9eleven. The photos 39 and 40 are of the hood and the current owner received the car with these blemishes. It seem those flaws were likely caused when the previous owners replaced the radiator and didn't have it placed low enough in the engine bay and when they shut the hood but the radiator must have been relocated lower after that as there does not seem to be any clearance issues now. We have asked the owner to confirm the a/c and radio are working. This vehicle did not include many records from the previous owners and the current owner has put minimal miles on the vehicle and therefor the vehicle has not had any significant repairs or services done during their ownership. We can confirm the vehicle has 1 set of keys included with it, the tires we believe are over 10 years old, but do have good tread and the vehicle being stored inside do not show any issues such as weather cracking. It has had some paint repair which isn't perfectly blended or matched. Overall this vehicle is perfect for someone that wants a car they can enjoy, but its not perfect. We'll get back to you once we have more info from the owner
