This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS is a meticulously crafted resto-mod that fuses classic aesthetics with modern high-performance upgrades. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter LS3 V8 with dual 68mm Precision ball-bearing turbos, 1000cc injectors, Holley EFI, and a custom-built intercooler, and paired with a built 4L80E automatic transmission. Finished in Metallic Gray with blackout accents over a custom red interior, it boasts a full Detroit Speed suspension, multi-piston brakes, shaved drip rails, 18” Formula 43 wheels, a Detroit Speed 9-inch rear end, a tucked rear bumper, a custom console, Autometer gauges, and much more. This tastefully modified Camaro SS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois.
During its comprehensive, ground-up restoration completed in late 2019, this example was refinished in Metallic Gray with a two-stage glossy paint accented by blackout elements. It features a blacked-out grille with blackout headlights, body-color bumpers, LED parking lamps, and a custom chin spoiler. It also boasts a Cowl Induction hood, shaved drip rails, bodyside marker lights, tinted glass with updated frames, and color-coordinated mirrors. The rear bumper has been trimmed and tucked into the rear quarter panels, accompanied by blacked-out Rally Sport billet tail lamps. It rides on 18” custom 3-piece Formula 43 wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Crafted by “Interiors by Chuck” in Charlotte, North Carolina, the cabin features custom front and rear bucket seats upholstered in red leather, complemented by a custom-built console. The dashboard features Autometer gauges, modern climate controls, and a JL audio system with a 10-inch subwoofer. Additional interior details include a LoKar shifter, custom side panels with billet handles, power windows, LED interior lighting, and a Billet Specialties steering wheel on a tilting column.
Power comes from a General Motors-sourced 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine equipped with twin 68mm Precision ball-bearing turbos, 1000cc injectors, and Holley electronic fuel injection, which delivers a claimed output of 840 HP and 825 lb.-ft of torque at 16 lbs. of boost. Currently, the engine is detuned to approximately 500 HP for road use. It also features Manley pistons, forged I-beam connecting rods, stainless valves, a hydraulic cam, and hypereutectic pistons, with exhaust routed through monochromatic Stainless Works headers. The cooling system includes a large aluminum radiator and electric puller fans. The drivetrain comprises a built 4L80E automatic transmission, a Detroit Speed 9-inch rear end with a posi-traction differential, and 3.70 USG Stealth gears from GearFX. Additionally, it is equipped with a complete Detroit Speed front suspension and subframe, complemented by a Quadralink rear suspension and Baer brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. The undercarriage has been modified for performance, with stainless fluid lines and a blacked-out performance stainless-steel fuel tank. Large-diameter pipes and polished mufflers manage the exhaust gases.
