The final model year of Chevrolet’s first-generation Camaro, 1969 saw the introduction of new bodywork with a much sportier appearance. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible was originally sold by Mid-Hudson Chevrolet of Poughkeepsie, New York, factory-finished in Fathom Green Metallic over a Medium Green Deluxe Interior and equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission, sport striping, a dual exhaust, Rallye wheels, auxiliary lighting, power steering, power disc brakes, and a Positraction differential. The car has been modified with a replacement 350 V8 engine from a 1971 Chevelle upgraded with a mild cam and MSD electronic ignition as well as a large aluminum radiator, a new stainless-steel exhaust, a steel cowl hood, a rear spoiler, and a custom retro sound system. Accompanied by its original window sticker and Protect-O-Plate, this ’69 Camaro was restored about 2 years ago and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.

For the 1969 model year, the Camaro’s bodywork was completely updated from the year prior apart from its hood, roof, and trunk lid. It received new deeply set headlights and a new deep “V” front grille as well as new rear quarter panels, doors, and a rear valence which provided a lower, wider, and more imposing look. This example is finished in its factory color of Fathom Green Metallic (920VV) with a white convertible top, optional white “hockey” sport striping, dual exhaust tailpipes, and 14” Rally wheels dressed in Radial GT tires. The auxiliary lighting option provides illumination under the hood and in the trunk. It has also been fitted with a steel cowl hood and a rear spoiler. The seller notes that the car was restored to its original color about 2 years ago and the original glass and undercoating remain in place. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, this Camaro features an original Medium Green Deluxe Interior including bucket seats, seatbelts, an optional center console, Rally gauges, and auxiliary lighting in the footwells, glovebox, and under the dashboard. A custom retro sound system has been installed and the seller reports all gauges and accessories are fully functional.

This Camaro is powered by a replacement 350ci V8 engine sourced from a 1971 Chevelle. The engine has been upgraded with a mild cam, MSD electronic ignition, a large aluminum radiator, and a new stainless-steel exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers and an X-pipe. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt Positraction rear axle with 3:08 gears. The car was also factory-equipped with power disc brakes and power steering.
