PCARMARKET is pleased to present for auction this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS finished in Le Mans Blue over black vinyl and houndstooth upholstery. Among the most popular American muscle cars of all time, this Norwood Ohio-built example is of the final first-generation “F-body” platform Camaros. Built to comply with Trans-Am racing series regulations, the Z/28 option code gave the Camaro a high-output small-block 302ci V8 for use in the sub-5 liter Trans-Am Class to compete with Ford’s Mustang 302 Boss as well as Dodge’s Challenger T/A and Plymouth’s AAR Cuda. Exquisitely restored prior to the owner’s acquisition in 2014, this Z/28 is now being offered for auction out of a private collection in New York.

This Camaro comes finished in Le Mans Blue with double white racing stripes and features the optional Rally Sport package (RPO Z22) which adds disappearing headlamps and special taillights along with quarter panel louvers, wheel, and drip moldings, as well as assorted RS badges. Original 15” Rally wheels with center caps and trim rings come dressed in belted Goodyear Polyglas GT F70-15 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

This Camaro is appointed with a full black vinyl interior featuring white houndstooth seat inserts. It retains its original appearance with a proper AM radio, bucket seats, rosewood trimmed steering wheel, and 4-Speed Hurst gear lever.

The desirable Z/28 option equips this Camaro with a 302ci high-performance V8 engine featuring an aluminum intake manifold and a single 4-barrel vacuum secondary 780 cfm Holley carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-Speed Muncie close-ratio manual transmission. The Z/28 benefits from upgraded heavy-duty suspension and power disc brakes in the front.

This sale will include a clean title. Perfect for rallies, shows, or Sunday drives, this iconic American muscle car is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.

@Gus65 @CHRISPLYCON If you drive the car, you can tell if it's an M-21 or M-22 from the sound. I've driven both 50 years ago, and you'll never forget the sound of an M-22.
