This 1968 Porsche 912 Coupe has been modified as a tribute to the legendary 911 Carrera RS 2.7. It comes finished in yellow and features RS-style bumpers, a ducktail rear spoiler, Carrera RS graphics, Fuchs wheels, and leather bucket seats. It was acquired by the seller from a private collector about a year ago and benefits from a rebuilt motor and carburetors as well as a new lowered suspension. This Carrera RS tribute is now being offered for auction out of New York.
This 912 Coupe has been refinished in yellow and modified with fiberglass RS-style bumpers, a ducktail rear spoiler, and black Carrera script decals on each side. Other equipment includes a polished driver’s side mirror, chrome door handles, chrome rear bumperettes with rubber overriders, silver window surrounds, black horn grilles, a fender-mounted antenna, a polished tailpipe, pop-out rear quarter windows, front vent windows, grille badges, and a Carrera RS logo on the rear spoiler. It rides on 15” Fuchs wheels dressed in Continental tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black vinyl interior has been fitted with a pair of fixed-back leather bucket seats. Accessories include a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, brushed aluminum dashboard trim, door panel storage pockets, rear seats with lap belts, manual window cranks, a heater, a quartz clock, and a locking glovebox. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
Power comes from a 1,600cc which is said to have been rebuilt along with its dual carburetors. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission, stopping power is handled by four-wheel disc brakes, and the seller states a new lowered suspension has been installed.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Purchased from a private collector a year ago, rebuilt motor, rebuilt carbs, comes with original carbs as well, replaced suspension, full service, new tires, the car runs, drives, and shifts great. Rare 1973 Carrera RS look, the car has been lowered, matching numbers.”

@Flat6porsche914 not sure, it’s a 55 year old car so I’m sure there is prob some rust repair somewhere, car is really in excellent condition and no sign of rust as it sits, runs and drives and shifts flawlessly and is very solid and has new suspension and new rear torsion bar, thanks
Pictures 102 and 103 look a like bondo. Need a magnet to check

@YETIMAN suspension can be raised or lowered, rear doesn’t rub at all very smooth ride, and no bondo on door jam, thanks for contribution
@chipper you are right! They really stuffed the rear on this one and dumped the front on that red 912. You can't tell me that the rear tire doesn't rub in a hard corner?! Otherwise I like it. Looks like a lot of the OG parts, major overspray underneath otherwise not too bad. Serious bondo in pic 103, doorjamb?? hmmm.
@edgy4sure yes, car is all matching
is that the original engine?
@928GTS exactly!!!
Perfect ride height for that RS look

Another car from this seller with very odd suspension height?
Nice looking, a little squatty in the rear.
