Introduced as an entry-level sports car alongside the original Porsche 911, the 912 shared the same bodywork and featured a 1.6-liter flat-four engine that offered improved weight distribution and ease of maintenance. This short-wheelbase 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe came factory-finished in Sand Beige over black leatherette upholstery and equipped with an optional 5-speed manual transmission. The car was purchased by the current owner in 1999 and underwent a restoration, which was completed in 2023. This 912 is now being offered for auction on behalf of its longtime owner out of Canada.
This 912 has been refinished in its original color of Sand Beige (6607). Equipment includes chrome trim and window moldings, chrome bumperettes with rubber overriders, a polished driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, front vent windows, pop-out rear quarter windows, a polished tailpipe, and silver 15” slotted steel wheels with chrome Porsche-crested hubcaps. The car rides on new Pirelli tires, and the seller describes the exterior as being in excellent condition.
The cabin has been redone with new black leatherette upholstery, a beige headliner, and charcoal German square weave carpeting. Accessories include a wood-rimmed two-spoke steering wheel, wood dashboard trim, front lap belts, manual crank windows, door panel storage pockets, a locking glovebox, analog VDO gauges, and a Blaupunkt radio. The seller notes the speedometer has been replaced, and the mileage shown on the odometer is inaccurate.
Power comes from an air-cooled 1.6-liter flat-four engine rated at 90 HP and 90 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transaxle, and stopping power is handled by disc brakes at each corner. The seller notes the engine was rebuilt within the last 500 kilometers, including new Mahle pistons and rings.
This sale will include a Quebec registration.
The seller would like you to know: “Stunning 912, bridging the gap between the aging 356 back then, and the dazzling 911, which was to become the icon celebrating its 60th birthday. Here we have a Specimen that was patiently restored by top-level professionals between 1999 and 2023, with great attention to detail. Collectors will appreciate the Matching numbers (engine and transmission) and colors of the car that comes with Kardex, showing tinted windows and a 5-speed from the factory; Originally ordered by Dear Doctor, and currently owned by a Dear Doctor as well, who commissioned the ground-up restoration with an open checkbook.”

I've been away from restorations for a while, and could be wrong, but in photo 83, not sure if 67 front hoods had the two cut slits under the rubber buffers; I think they appeared later? If so, it could be a replacement hood indicating rust or accident damage. Also can't tell if center section is textured as should be on SWB. No big deal, hoods are essentially the same but if, and I stress if, the hood was replaced, shoots hole in "rock solid Foundation" My sense is that seller is just not familiar with these details and (hopefully) is doing his best with what he knows.
Also, side-view Durant mirror appears to be larger, later style from 68-71. Wipers should park on right side....
@65Porsche You are spot on. I would love to bid, but, I don't see a single restoration photo, a single receipt showing who did what, and where, and when. It's currently a leap of faith, and that's not how I roll.
Although the car presents well in photos, keep in mind that some of us, before making a remote purchase, want more detailed technical info on what can't be seen. Engine rebuilds, for example on 912/356 engines, require specialized, experienced hands to do well. The more you can help us "see" what photo's don't reveal, the better the buyer confidence.
Also, you say "No Rust Repair was done from the start. Exfoliation / Brushing away of some surface rust here & there as preparation prior the Painting Process." Please explain then Restoration Design's "contribution to the Rotisserie restoration" regarding a car with a "BedRock rock solid Foundation." RD is a well-known and respected supplier of rust replacement parts. However, do they also perform "rotisserie restorations" assuming none of their parts were used?

Wood dash might not be an option back then. But looks fantastical. Wood is Good. Reminds me a cool footage / Clip from Seinfeld…

I've never seen such a beautiful 912 in my life, and I've seen dozens of them. Off-Chart.
Engine was Rebuilt by retired fanatic Porsche mechanic. Solex carbs rebuit. Some name dropping:
https://www.restoration-design.com contributed to the Rotisserie restoration. BedRock rock solid Foundation. Stoddard provided aftermarket Steering wheel, wood dash and many other parts required. No expense spared. Nothing too good for Her. Open checkBook, as said before.

Nice looking 912! A few questions, who rebuilt the engine and do you have receipts? Were Solex carbs rebuilt? Any underside photos showing if pans were replaced or original? Any sheet metal/rust work done? Confirm wood wheel is aftermarket. Also, where did wood dash come from, repro or original from 65-66 911? FYI -- door hinge bolts get painted body color, hinge pins do not (common resto mistake!
