Finished in Aetna Blue over Camel basketweave leather upholstery, this 1967 Porsche 911 Coupe is the subject of a 4,000+ hour custom rotisserie restoration. It has been converted to long-wheelbase specifications and features original metal bodywork modified with wide steel RSR-style fender flares. Power comes from a custom twin-plug 3.4-liter flat-six engine with 50 PMO triple carburetors, a front-mounted Carrera oil cooler, and a high-performance stainless-steel exhaust system. This one-of-a-kind 911 was completed in August 2021 and displayed at Monterey Car Week before it was sold on PCARMARKET shortly after. Having been cared for by a single owner and driven less than 2k miles since completion, this painstakingly restored 911 is now being offered for auction out of Alabama.

This 911 was completely disassembled and converted to long-wheelbase specifications along with the fitment of steel RSR-style fender flares, a hood-mounted fuel filler, and a 1972-style external oil filler lid on the right quarter panel. The original body panels and bumpers were retained during the restoration and the exterior has been finished in the historic Porsche color of Aetna Blue with contrasting silver Porsche script graphics. Equipment includes LED projector headlights, yellow-tinted Hella driving lights, dual bullet mirrors, chrome bumperettes, gold rear Porsche lettering, and custom deep dish 15” Fuchs wheels in silver. The car rides on Pirelli P7 tires and the exterior is preserved by a 12-year SunTek ceramic-infused self-healing paint protection film with 11.5 mil thickness on the rear quarters. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The interior has been redone featuring classic oatmeal square weave carpeting and Camel leather upholstery with basketweave inserts on the seat centers and door panels. The fixed-back bucket seats, dashboard, and instrument surround are painted to match the exterior. Accessories include a black leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, lap belts, tilt seat brackets, an electronic climate control system, a vintage Becker stereo, and analog VDO gauges.

Power comes from a custom 3.4-liter flat-six engine with twin-plug cylinder heads, 50 PMO triple carburetors, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. Engine oil is passed through hard lines along the rocker panels to a front-mounted Carrera oil cooler. The rear wheels are driven through a rebuilt 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle and the chassis features a long-wheelbase Carrera-style suspension. The seller estimates the car’s weight to be approximately 2,200 lbs. with an engine output of 350 HP.

This sale will include a clean title.

Really a stunning example and amazing build. The Monterey / Pebble auctions had a number of "the bid will go on" so it appears there is a softening in the market. But, doesn't mean this one is worth any less than it was 6 or 12 months ago. Hopefully a deal will be done. Good luck!!!

2200lbs and 350hp is an impressive combination
I'd like to see both those specs documented (corner balance scales, dyno.)
Google says a SWB->LWB "conversion" add 57mm to the wheelbase, mostly by longer swing arms.
I appreciate the extension "during" photos; I think a bid approaching the asking price requires written documentation of the build, the "stack of receipts" that accompanies these sorts of one-off hand-built types.

@PhantomU No, it has a front hood fuel filler and a custom 1972 911 style external oil filler on the right rear quarter panel.

@ehd911 Yes, Yes, Yes Thank you for the added content and info. This Porsche is a "Stunner" I know you will do well!

@Ssort The 1967 Aetna Blue 911 Custom Widebody Long Wheelbase RSR/HR Coupe was completed just prior to displaying it at Monterey/Pebble Beach in 2021; it's a 4,000 hour top-tier "Singer Class" build by our affiliated Los Angeles based world class 911 longhood restorer (Brad Baldwin); yet it's not a back date, or a composite car -- all metal work was done to retain as much of the original car as possible and complete the build spec. It sold here on PCM in 2021; it's a 1-owner, mint condition example with nil miles since the build & Brad's sorting. Our collector/client is pairing down his collection and is offering the Aetna Blue RSR/HR accordingly.

@Xflyr I apologize for the delay and all of the "additional content notifications"; yet the PCM upload facility will only allow 50 images at time; was unaware of the "automatic notifications" -- hopefully the build & progression photos offer additional insight to the quality of the build, in addition to engine details reiterated by @the8thbif, much appreciated.

@Xflyr previous auction that perhaps fell through? https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/1967-porsche-911-coupe-2/

Sold in mid to late Aug 2021. Up for sale again. Might i ask why? Thanks!

  • Xflyr 1 year, 1 monthago

Absolutely beautiful but we need more info. Suspension, brakes, LSD; engine specifics like cams, crank, pistons, ignition, compression ratio: under car photos, driving video? With that awesome twin plug putting out 350 HP, other system upgrades become important. Thanks and good luck.
