Representing the first generation of Porsche’s most iconic sports car, this 1967 Porsche 911 Coupe is a short-wheelbase model finished in Polo Red over a reupholstered black leather interior with pepita cloth seat centers. It was purchased by the previous owner in 1989 and remained under his care until 2019. During that time, it was fitted with an aftermarket sunroof and a larger 2.2-liter flat-six engine from a 1971 model. The car was purchased from the long-term owner’s family after his passing in 2020 and received a new roof skin, front fenders, trim, paint, interior upholstery, carpeting, and a complete rebuild of the upgraded 2.2-liter engine. This classic air-cooled 911 is now being offered for auction out of Colorado.
Since 2020, this 911 Coupe has been refinished in its original Polo Red color along with the installation of a new windshield, roof panel, front fenders, rubber seals, exterior trim, and protective undercoating. Equipment includes chrome trim and window moldings, gold rear model lettering, chrome bumperettes with rubber overriders, pop-out rear quarter windows, a chrome driver’s side mirror, and a polished exhaust tip. The car rides on refurbished factory 15” slotted steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and new Firestone 560 tires mounted in December 2023.
The cabin has been recently refurbished with new black leather upholstery, pepita cloth seat inserts, a new headliner, and new Daytona-weave carpeting. Accessories include brushed aluminum dashboard trim, a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, a Porsche-crested gear knob, analog VDO gauges, and a vintage pushbutton radio.
Sourced from a 1971 Porsche 911, the air-cooled 2.2-liter flat-six engine was completely rebuilt with new pistons and cylinders in 2023. It sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle while stopping power is handled by disc brakes at each corner. Photos and documentation from the car’s refurbishment are available and approximately 100 miles have been driven with the rebuilt engine.
This sale will include recent refurbishment records, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a great car that was rebuilt using elevated materials to be a car that you want to spend lots of time in.”
