Produced under the direction of Ferrari's North American dealer, Luigi Chinetti, the Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spider was intended to be a successor to the 250 California Spider. Only 10 examples were built by Scaglietti in 1967 and were informally named NART Spiders after Chinetti’s North American Racing Team. This faithful recreation is based on a 1982 Ferrari 400i purchased by the current owner in 2013 before being fitted with replica metal bodywork. It features a 4.8-liter V12 engine with six 2-barrel side draft carburetors, a 5-speed gated manual transmission, an ANSA exhaust, a roll bar, 15” Campagnolo wheels, and a custom interior inspired by Denise McCluggage's NART Spider, which was raced in the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1967. Accompanied by records documenting the entire build, this uncompromising NART Spider replica is now being offered for auction by the Wilson Collection in Florida.
The replica bodywork is made from steel with an aluminum hood, trunk, and door panels. The exterior is finished in a traditional Ferrari red paint color with Scuderia fender shields, Pininfarina badges, Ferrari emblems, and racing number roundels on the hood and doors. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, covered headlamps, fender vents, a bullet-style driver’s side mirror, hood pins, a hood-mounted oil filler cap, a polished external fuel cap, a black roll bar, quad ANSA exhaust tips, and silver 15” Campagnolo wheels with Borani three-eared knockoffs. The car rides on 205/70 Blockley tires dated from 2011. The seller indicates the convertible top has been removed, and a paint chip is present on the passenger-side rear wheel arch lip. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with photos from the body fabrication process and corresponding invoices.
Drawing inspiration from Denise McCluggage's Sebring-raced NART Spider, the racing-style cockpit features black leather bucket seats with blue cloth inserts. Accessories include a blue racing safety harness, a wood-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, drilled door panels and footrests, drilled aluminum pedals, a gated shifter assembly, a leather-trimmed center console, NART-branded door sills, an emergency cutoff switch, a glovebox, and Ferrari-branded Veglia Borletti instrument dials. The seller indicates all gauges are fully functional, although the speedometer makes some noise.
Derived from a Ferrari 400i, the 4.8-liter F101 Colombo V12 engine has been rebuilt and fitted with six 2-barrel Weber side-draft carburetors by Savannah Race Engineering. A dyno sheet from the engine builder shows a peak output of 410 HP and 366 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. An itemized list is provided in the gallery showing the vendors, purchase dates, and associated costs for every component of the full mechanical restoration. The seller notes minor oil seepage from the engine.
This sale will include a toolkit, build records, and a clean title Florida for a 1982 Ferrari.
The seller would like you to know: “Larry Wilson had a passion for 1960s / 70s race cars. He came to a crossroad in his life where he had to decide if he was to pursue ventures in business or become a professional race car driver. Like many of his cars, this 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder was built as an interpretation of what could have been if he had taken the path of a professional driver. It truly embodies his passion and spirit for racing.”

@1974Bronco Larry was about your height, so you would fit just fine. And it has an adjustable seat rail, so it fits shorter people as well.
