Introduced in 1964 as a premium subseries of the Chevrolet Chevelle, the Malibu featured a more luxurious interior and trim than the standard Chevelle. This 1967 Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe marks the final year of the first-generation Chevelle Malibu and is the subject of a bare-metal rotisserie restoration. It was refinished in its original color of Granada Gold Metallic over a Medium Gold vinyl interior and features an upgraded 496ci big block V8 paired with a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.73 gearing. The car also features a Lee power steering box, front and rear sway bars, power-assisted front disc brakes, a Be Cool radiator with dual Spal fans, a Hurst shifter, and a high-end stereo system with Morel speakers, an amplifier, and a custom dual 8” subwoofer enclosure. Driven approximately 2k miles since the completion of the restoration, this Chevelle Malibu is now being offered for auction out of California.

This Chevelle was produced in Kansas City with a Malibu Sport Coupe configuration (67-13617). It was stripped to bare metal and refinished in its original color of Granada Gold Metallic (G) using two-stage paint during the rotisserie restoration, along with replacements of all brightwork, glass, and weatherstripping. The seller notes an aftermarket SS-style hood was installed, although all other sheet metal bodywork is original to the car. Equipment includes chrome trim and bumpers, SS 396 badging, dual chrome tailpipes, a fender-mounted antenna, a driver’s side mirror, and 14” American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels with grey centers and machined outer lips.

The cabin has been redone in its original appearance with Medium Gold vinyl upholstery (784-B) and matching carpets. Accessories include front bucket seats, woodgrain dashboard trim, under-dash auxiliary gauges, a three-spoke SS steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and a custom stereo system with a retro-style radio, Morel speakers, an Audio Control Amplifier, and a custom dual 8” subwoofer enclosure.

This Chevelle has been fitted with an upgraded 496ci Chevrolet big block V8 including Edelbrock valve covers, an Edelbrock air cleaner, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual Spal fans. The rear wheels are driven through a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission with a 12-bolt Positraction rear end and 3.73 gears. The car also features front and rear sway bars, power-assisted front disc brakes, and a Lee power steering box. The seller states the drivetrain has less than 1,000 miles of use and all fluids were changed in preparation for the sale.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “A professionally built car, sorted, runs outstanding, and will make anyone happy.”
