The Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII BJ8 sports convertible was introduced in 1964 with an output of 150 HP using a new high-lift camshaft and dual SU HD8 carburetors. This 1967 example was acquired by the seller in 2015 and subsequently received a new top and tires. In addition, the engine was removed in 2020 and was fitted with a new clutch and all new seals. This Austin-Healy 3000 MKIII BJ8 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of North Carolina.
The exterior was refinished in a two-tone red and black color combination under previous ownership and includes a replacement black convertible soft top. Other equipment includes bumpers with overriders, front driving lights, a hood scoop, a chrome windscreen surround, a polished fuel filler door, a driver’s side Talbot-style mirror, and dual exhaust tips. Detailed images are provided in the gallery. The 15” silver wire wheels wear dual-eared knock-off spinners and were mounted with new Michelin tires in 2015 with only several hundred miles driven since.
The interior is upholstered in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a wood-rimmed steering wheel and wood shift knob, a heater, a burlwood dashboard panel, a locking glove box, and Smiths instrumentation. An aftermarket stereo head unit was added during the current ownership.
The Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six, equipped with dual SU carburetors, factory rated at 150 horsepower and 173 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 4-speed manual transmission with an electrically powered overdrive. The seller reports the engine was removed in 2020, resealed, and fitted with a new clutch. An oil change was also performed within the 200 miles since it was acquired by the seller.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and a car cover.

Lovely AH. And only 3 hours drive away. I took my driver's test in a big Healey and would love to have another to love and care for and keep company with my Morris Minor Traveller. Sorry to hear about you having to sell your "girlfriend" due to health reasons. If it doesn't go for your reserve lets get together and make a deal. Glenn K., Mooresville, NC

Hello, My name is Rich and I am finally letting go of "Girfriend" that I have had for 8 years. Love this car that I wanted my whole life. Health issues are making me let it go. It is absolutely awesome and fun to drive. Please respond with any questions. Thank you.
