We are pleased to present this 1966 Porsche 911 Coupe finished in Polo Red over a black leatherette interior. Representing one of the earliest Porsche 911s, this short-wheelbase 1966 example was sold new from the famous Competition Motors dealership in Los Angeles to music composer Jerrold Immel, who would go on to create television theme songs for Dallas, Voyagers, Gunsmoke, Walker Texas Ranger, and Knots Landing. The car had remained under the care of the original owner’s family up until 2015 before eventually being sold on PCARMARKET in 2020. This 911 has since been treated to cryogenic cleaning and a recent full service by a Porsche specialist. Accompanied by its original California pink slip, sales invoice, registration, and insurance cards, this beautifully presented 911 Coupe is now being offered by its seller out of Connecticut.
This Coupe is said to have been refinished in its original color of Polo Red during the 1980s. A full professional paint correction has been recently carried out along with cryogenic cleaning of the engine bay and chassis. This early example is distinguished by its chrome bumper overriders, passenger-side oriented wiper arms, and gold anodized rear badging with linked-lettering Porsche script and angled 911 designation. The 15” chrome ventilated wheels are currently dressed in a set of Michelin Primacy tires.
Inside, this 911 features reupholstered seats with houndstooth cloth inserts and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Factory options include seatbelts, an external mirror, and a radio which has been replaced with an upgraded Pioneer unit.
This 911 derives as much as 130 HP from an air-cooled 2.0L flat-six carbureted engine. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. A recent full service is said to have been carried out by a qualified Porsche specialist.
This sale will include the original California pink slip, owner’s manual, a collection of original sales documentation, service records, a toolkit, and a clean title. For any collector or passionate air-cooled enthusiast in search of an early short-wheelbase 911, this 1966 Coupe is not to be overlooked.

It’s refreshing to see the underside hasn’t been all covered up with undercoating. Looks like minimal surface oxidation and all of the key areas are original and unbothered. Nice.

@Delmenhorst The early 911s all had 5 speed but the 912s had 4 speed and optional 5 speed
@dchesrown Taking one tomorrow.
@RM59 the car is not currently registered as we did not have to register it as we are a licensed dealer. The car is still on its original CA pink slip.
I will be uploading 3 videos tomorrow. (cold start, full walk around and a driving video).
@RM59 Chuck Goldsborough performed the a full fluid service on the car. Rebuild the carbs, redid the fuel system. I will upload undercarriage shots tomorrow.
Are there any pictures undercarriage and suspension?
What do you mean by: "A recent full service is said to have been carried out by a qualified Porsche specialist." Was a service performed? Are there records/receipts?
Do you have any video of a cold start and driving?
Is the car currently registered/licensed? If so, what State?
Thank you!
