Up for auction is this rare and nicely presented 1966 911 Sunroof Coupe. This early example is said to be one of the first twenty-five 911’s to be equipped with a sunroof. Finished in stunning silver paint over red leather, this car epitomizes classic 911 style. With 1000 miles on the engine and 43,970 showing on the odometer, this 911 is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner and is being offered in excellent condition by a collector in California.

This attractive and highly collectible 911 has been repainted in its original silver color (code #6206) within last 10 years. This new paint shines brilliantly and is stated to be in excellent condition, only displaying some minor imperfections. The bright work on this car is largely original and fully intact. As a 1966 model, this 911 is fitted with the desirable early 4-screw air vents on the front bumper. During its restoration this 911 received some metal work to combat corrosion including partially replaced floors. Extensive photos and records concerning this restoration are available.

The red leather interior of this 911 is in a near perfect restored state. It features entirely new carpets, headliner and seats all in the correct finish and material. This car retains its original wooden dashboard and steering wheel. While the steering wheel has been professionally refinished, the dashboard remains in excellent, untouched condition. All in all, this period-correct interior presents very well and all components and electrical systems are in great working order.

This numbers-matching 911 carries its original 2-liter flat-six engine. This iconic power plant has been fully rebuilt and only bears about 1000 miles of use. The often-troublesome Solex carburetors have been swapped out with with more reliable Weber carbs. This car performs absolutely brilliantly and drives the way it was originally intended. The seller notes that the tires are about 10 years old and should be replaced, otherwise this 911 is in working order and is ready to be driven.

This is a rare, highly original and mechanically sound 911. Included in the sale are all records and documentation concerning its restoration as well as the original books, service manual, Kardex card, jack, tools and spare. Service records detailing the seller’s 10-year ownership as well as a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity will also be provided. Do not miss this rare opportunity to own this superb and highly collectible 1966 Porsche 911.

Super impressive and as simple as it is that red leather keychain matching the red leather interior actually really does a lot to keep everything else in sync like the red seat belts and the red doors. Gorgeous car.
