A tribute to one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time, this 1966 Ford Mustang is the subject of a GT350-style rotisserie restoration completed shortly before the seller’s purchase in 2009. It wears fastback Shelby-style bodywork finished in Wimbledon White with blue racing stripes. Equipment includes a 5.0-liter High Output (H.O.) V8 engine from a 1990 Ford Mustang, a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, front fog lights, black leather bucket seats, a wood-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, air conditioning, a dash-mounted tachometer, a digital stereo, and American Racing wheels. Benefitting from a host of services completed over the last three years, this Mustang Shelby GT350 tribute is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
This Mustang fastback has been modified with a Shelby-style front grille, hood scoop, and side air scoops on the rear fenders. The exterior is finished in Wimbledon White with blue racing stripes and features chrome bumpers, center-mounted front fog lights, a chrome driver’s side mirror, GT350-logo side stripes, Shelby badging, chrome dual exhaust outlets, and 15” American Racing wheels dressed in BF Goodrich Traction T/A tires. The seller notes the exterior has been ceramic coated and anti-rust coating was sprayed into the front fenders in 2022. A small scratch is present on the driver’s door and a dent can be seen on the left front fender. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior features a pair of black leather bucket seats with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Accessories include lap belts, a wood-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, a reverse lockout shifter, a dashboard-mounted tachometer, an under-dash air conditioning system, Cobra-branded floor mats, a fire extinguisher, and a Mustang-branded digital stereo. The seller indicates the gauge cluster was replaced in 2023.
Power comes from a 1990 Ford Mustang-sourced 5.0-liter HO V8 engine with electronic fuel injection and a BBK cold air intake. It drives the rear wheels through a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. Service in 2022 included bleeding the brake system, flushing the coolant, and replacing the serpentine belt. The upper control arms, lower suspension arms, and ball joints were replaced in 2023 along with the installation of Heidts urethane bushing assemblies.
This sale will include a spare tire, service records, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I can assure you that driving this car will put a smile on your face from ear to ear.”
