Now available for auction is this fully restored 1965 Porsche 356SC Cabriolet finished in Black over a black leather interior.  As the final iteration of the 356, the SC was debuted with four-wheel disc brakes and Porsche's most powerful pushrod engine of the time.  Representing the last year of production for the 356SC, this 1965 Cabriolet was the subject of a complete nut and bolt restoration in 2016 by Tom Drummund, one of the most revered experts in the Porsche community and recipient of the Weissach Award at the 2014 Monterey Porsche Parade.  Presented in its original color combination while retaining its numbers matching engine, this 356SC Cabriolet is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

During the restoration in 2016, this Cabriolet was stripped down to bare metal and completely refinished in its factory specified color of Black (6413).  The restoration is noted to have been carried out to an exceptionally high standard, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  The Reutter bodywork is highlighted by a twin grille rear decklid, chrome brightwork, and exhaust outlets integrated into the rear bumperettes.  This 356 rides on chrome ventilated 15" wheels dressed in period-style Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.

Inside, the cabin has been completely reupholstered in factory-specified black leather upholstery and square weave carpeting.  A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of the black painted dashboard which houses three instrument dials as well as a central analog clock and an authentic radio-delete plate.  The odometer currently shows just over 5k miles which is believed to reflect the distance traveled since the restoration.

The most powerful pushrod-type motor Porsche had offered at the time, this 356SC carries a 1600cc flat-four carbureted engine which sends approximately 95 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission.  The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms the engine as number’s matching, although the originality of the transmission has not been verified by Porsche.  All mechanical systems were completely gone through and sorted during the restoration and there are no outstanding maintenance items reported at this time.

This sale will include a spare tire, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title. A beautifully restored representation of the final Porsche 356, this SC Cabriolet would make a perfect addition to any world-class collection.

@boslough I will post undercarriage and open top photos on Monday morning.
The engine and transmission were rebuild at the time of the restoration. I will gather all the documentation and post it as well. The restoration is absolutely beautiful.

Are original miles and number of owners known? Was the engine and transmission rebuilt during restoration? Is the restoration invoice/detail available to post? Can pictures of the underbody be posted? Thank you.
