Envemo, founded in São Paulo in 1966, initially offered technical services to the automotive industry. By 1979, it officially became an assembler, producing the Envemo Super 90 Coupe, a Brazilian clone of the Porsche 356 based on a Volkswagen Brasília chassis. It gained popularity and was exported to the United States and Europe. This 1986 example comes finished in yellow over brown upholstery and benefits from a 1,776cc CB Performance replacement engine with dual Dellorto carburetors. rebuilt carburetors, a rebuilt front suspension system, and more. Acquired by the selling dealer from its previous owner of 19 years, this 356 replica by Envemo is now being offered for auction out of New York.

This Cabriolet comes finished in a shade of light yellow contrasted by a brown canvas convertible soft top and matching boot cover. Built on the chassis of a Volkswagen Brasilia, it features a twin-grille engine lid, body-color bumpers with chrome overriders, Talbot-style mirrors, and 15” Porsche slotted steel wheels with polished hubcaps. The seller states the car appears to have been previously refinished and a new soft top has been fitted. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is appointed with brown leather Recaro seats as well as brown vinyl-upholstered door panels, a matching dashboard, and a wool headliner. The seller recommends reupholstering the seats and replacing the carpet. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly apart from the radio.

Power is derived from a 1,776cc CB Performance replacement engine with dual Dellorto carburetors, sending power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that service was performed to the carburetors and front suspension, and a new electronic fuel pump has been installed. The seller also notes a slight oil leak occurs after the car has been sitting for some time.

This sale will include a clean title.

  • Imperial (seller) 12 monthsago

@Ferry the current owner has owned the car for 20 years and during his time he did not paint it. There is evidence that car was painted but we could not tell you if it is original paint or a respray. Likely a respray because it has a very nice finish

  • Ferry (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

Is this the first and original paint? Was there a respray? If yes please mantion even if it‘s partly. Thanks

@Imperial @1anfonlyk.Schments67 correction, a smaller diameter nardi steering wheel with hub adapter is included with the sale.

  • Imperial (seller) 1 yearago

@1andonlyK.Schments67 - undercarriage photos will be up shortly
-it is titled as a 1986 on the NY title
-NY does not require emissions testing on a 1986 only a safety check
-low back seats are not included but the owner does have a European connection to have new ones produced at reasonable cost. There are no additional parts to the car. I believe when I made the video I was under the impression that the owner had low back seats but I was incorrect. I apologize for any confusion.

    Hello Imperial,
Yellow colored cars always get my attention, don't know why though. I have a few questions to ask you before making a bid.
#1 I'm not seeing any undercarriage pics on the listing , will they be forthcoming ?
#2 What year is on the NY title ?
#3 Was there emission testing done with previous owner or Imperial ?
#4 I either heard or saw that the low back seats are part of the sale. Are other parts going with the sale as well?
Sorry for all the questions . Question #1 is the priority of the 4 .
Thanks in advance and wish you well .

Envemo bought new Brasilia chassis direct from VW Brazil back then. So chassis wasn’t a recycled old VW and also doesn’t have a VW chassis number. Just the Envemo chassis number. Located on the tunnel

  • Imperial (seller) 1 yearago

The engine was built in 1995 by the prior owner.

  • Imperial (seller) 1 yearago

@havenhearth The Pan is a 1986 Pan purchased brand new from VW Brazil
CB performance is based out farmersville California and is a well known VW engine builder.

  • Super90PJ 1 yearago

@Havenhearth they were built on brand new Brasilia pans purchased directly from VW Brazil and not built on old 60’s VWs like many of the speedster replicas.

  • Super90PJ 1 yearago

@Havenhearth this is built on a 1986 VW brasilia pan. CB performance is one of the oldest and respected VW engine builders in the country based in farmersville California.

    @Imperial

Do you know, or does the paperwork list what year VW pan was used for this build?

And what can you tell us about CB Motors, ( builder? rebuilder? performance modifier? ) of the engine onboard please?

    Thanks very much,

    David

  • Muf911 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I did not even know such replicas exist. Interesting sight among all the speedsters.
    Is the body fiberglas?
