@fde The owner is 6' and he is comfortable in the car.

  • fde 1 year, 4 monthsago

How comfortable is this car for a taller driver? I am 6'3".

  • ronn356 (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

Beautiful presentation, especially a study of its chassis. The solution for the muffler system shows just how little room there is for that to snake through underneath. Ironic that it goes under the rear suspension rather than over, as in many production cars. The header collects into one pipe entering the muffler, and so a one-pipe exiting from the muffler that splits into two after the diff would have helped simplify things but still accomplish the rear exit's appearance. Few people look under a car to see what's what, and I've always wondered about Kirkham chassis. Wonderful cars. Thanks for sharing!

@Chuckc The floorboards don't get hot. If you take a close look, there is insulation on the floorboard.

    Regards

  • Chuckc (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

How hot do the floor boards get due to the location of the mufflers?

  • WilsonCollection (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@RoMoCo1 Hey, thank you. I was waiting for this question to come up. Unfortunately no, it does not come with the side curtains and top.

    Regards

Hi- Nice 289 slab side Cobra. Does the car have a convertible top and side curtains? Thanks.

  • WilsonCollection (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@DAH183 it is registered as: 1965 Cobra 2-door.

@JMCCobra the car was assembled in 2006.

  • WilsonCollection (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@Nairel yes it is a hybrid.

  • kireneslo (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

    Is there a spare and Jack?Tools(knockoff hammer,etc).

  • Chupee (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

THe muffler is far too exposed and low. How is it logical?

  • Nairel (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

Is this a Kirkham Hybrid? It appears to be a coil spring car and not a leaf spring car.

  • JMCCobra (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

What year was the car assembled?

  • WilsonCollection (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@SBerastequi that is a fair point. Maybe it would be a good idea for the future owner to find a muffler with a more narrow profile to give a little more clearance. I will say though, I (representing the owner) have never driven this car and bottomed out the muffler. For most people, I don't think this is much of a concern.

  • SBerastequi (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

As nice as this car is, top and underneath, why is the exhaust so low? Having owned a ‘63 Cobra I am certain the exhaust was not so close to the pavement. This car would be extremely difficult to drive on any of today’s roads except a very few. Obviously you have encountered the same problems as there are signs of scrapes on the passenger side on the header and muffler. Not being critical but this is a car one would want to drive without the concern of damaging the exhaust.
