A replica of the iconic 1965 Shelby Cobra 427, this Factory Five Mk2 Roadster is powered by a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang V8 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It features side-exit exhaust pipes, a hood scoop, a black roll bar, a three-spoke steering wheel, leather bucket seats, racing harnesses, cruise control, and 15” multi-piece Hallibrand-style wheels. Originally built and registered in Kentucky in 2001, this Mk2 Roadster moved to California in 2023, where it is now being offered for auction. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.
The fiberglass bodywork is finished in silver with black racing stripes. Details include a hood scoop, a tinted windscreen, front fender vents, chrome bumpers, side-exit exhaust pipes, wind wings, a driver’s side mirror, a Le Mans-style fuel filler, and a black driver’s side roll bar. The car rides on 15” multi-piece Hallibrand-style wheels and BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior features leather bucket seats, Simpson racing harnesses, a Moto-Lita 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, smoked sun visors, chrome gauge bezels, a polished shifter, an aluminum handbrake lever, a fire extinguisher, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, a cruise control module, and analog instrument dials.
Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 engine sourced from a 1993 Ford Mustang. It delivers power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual BorgWarner T-5 transmission. The seller states service records are available dating back to the original ownership.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, sales literature, service records, and a clean California title listing the vehicle as a 1965 Ford.
