We are pleased to present this 1965 Fiat 500 Giardiniera Jolly finished in Red over a Rittan interior. Beginning in the late 1950s, Italian design house, Ghia, converted Fiat 500 and 600 models into the unique variation seen here called the Jolly. The Jolly was created for use in warm climates with a wealthy clientele in mind, featuring an open roof, doorless design, a unique wicker interior and more. This 1965 example is based on the extended wheelbase 500 Giardiniera and is said to have been imported into the U.S. from Italy in 1973 and has remained in California since. This Fiat Jolly, chassis number 136619, is now being offered for auction here by its seller out of California.
This example comes finished in Red with a red and white striped top. When this Jolly was acquired by the current owner it was finished in a shade of green with a floral soft top, and was subsequently disassembled and refinished in its current shade of red. It features a single side view mirror, safety ropes, chrome bumpers and trim, ventilation grilles on the rear quarters, Ghia badging, and 12” wheels with chrome hubcaps. The wheels come dressed in a set of BFGoodrich Silvertown white wall radial tires. A collection of detailed images has been provided by the seller and can be viewed in the gallery.
Inside, the open cabin features a body-colored dashboard, tan tight weave carpeting, and Rattan front and rear seating. The seller notes that the driver and passenger seat show a few imperfections in the rattan surface and confirms that all gauge’s lights and features remain functional. Amenities include an in-dash radio, an analog clock, a passenger grab handle, and a 120kph speedometer.
Power comes from a horizontally opposed, 499cc twin cylinder engine. The rear wheels are driven by way of a four-speed manual gearbox. The engine has been fitted with a sport muffler and stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums. The seller notes that recent service includes and oil and filter service, new spark plugs, and new push rod tubes and gaskets.
This sale will include a clean title. Loaded with character and charm, the Fiat Jolly makes for one of the most unique driving expenses around.

Hi carplanet, the 500's are 2 cyl air cooled and the 600's are 4 cyl water cooled and this one is a 500 for sure. Thank you for your comment
Looks like a 600 to me. Not a 500.
